At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long deployed and thoroughly grasped the basic contents of Conclusion No. 132-KL/TW, dated March 18, 2025 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 36-CT/TW of the Politburo on strengthening and improving the effectiveness of drug prevention, control and combat and the Government's Plan to implement Conclusion No. 132-KL/TW. Accordingly, after 5 years of implementing Directive No. 36-CT/TW, drug prevention, control and combat work has had many positive changes. Party committees, party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels have paid attention to leading, directing and organizing implementation, mobilizing a large number of cadres, party members and people to actively participate.

However, the drug crime situation is still very complicated with methods and tricks that are constantly changing, sophisticated, dangerous, and more international. The number of drug addicts and illegal drug users is getting younger and younger; the trend of using synthetic drugs and new types of highly toxic drugs leads to the risk of increasing drug addicts and illegal drug users, causing serious consequences for health, race, and quality of the labor force; increasing crimes, social evils, and violations of the law, causing insecurity, disorder, and social safety... To promote the achieved results, overcome shortcomings and limitations, and be more proactive in drug prevention, control, and combat, the Politburo requires Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations at all levels to continue to promote more seriously and drastically the implementation of the contents and tasks in Directive No. 36-CT/TW.

Representatives of central and local ministries and branches also had many presentations sharing experiences in drug treatment, drug addicts, difficulties and proposed solutions; solutions to mobilize and diversify investment resources, support drug prevention, control and prevention work; solutions to improve propaganda effectiveness, enhance people's resistance in eliminating drug abuse; general review and statistics of drug addicts in society, difficulties and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of drug prevention, control and prevention work in the coming time.
