The project “Developing a district-level eye care model for the period 2022-2024” is sponsored by the Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF). As one of the three district-level medical units in Dak Nong province benefiting from the project, Dak Mil District Health Center has been invested in many specialized equipment and provided with medicines, medical supplies, etc. to ensure eye examination activities at the unit. The project has also invested in an optical counter for the center; supported training of eye care personnel.

From 2022 to present, Dak Mil District Medical Center has provided specialized eye examinations for 6,718 people, including 347 cases of cataract; 1,130 cases of eye surgery and procedures...

Along with the actual visit to the model, representatives of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health, Central Eye Hospital, FHF Fund, Department of Health and experts, doctors, medical staff implementing the project in Dak Nong, Phu Yen, Ben Tre, Hoa Binh provinces exchanged and shared experiences to better implement eye care activities in localities and units.

In the coming time, the District Eye Care Project sponsored by FHF will continue to support the district eye care model in Dak Mil and expand to the remaining districts. The project will continue to invest in purchasing specialized eye equipment, support training costs; continue to support lenses and frames to maintain the eyewear counter for the elderly, children and the poor.
