Timely support
Le Bao Khang (born in 2013, in Binh Loc commune, Dien Khanh district) has congenital heart disease, but because his family is in difficult circumstances, his parents do not have stable jobs and have low incomes, they do not have the conditions to take him for surgery and treatment. Knowing his condition and the family's situation, the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Social Work - the unit managing the Provincial Children's Protection Fund, mobilized and called on units, businesses and philanthropists to join hands to support more than 180 million VND to perform heart surgery for Khang. After surgery and treatment, Khang is now healthy, no longer has chest pain, difficulty breathing and he smiles more. In particular, Khang has returned to school to study more regularly than before.

Baby Hoang Vo Thao Nhi (born in 2023, Dien Phuoc commune, Dien Khanh) also has congenital heart disease, but because the family has financial difficulties, they cannot take her for surgery and treatment. With the guidance of the local authorities, the family contacted the Provincial Children's Support Fund to connect with sources to mobilize support for the family of more than 110 million VND; the Provincial Children's Support Fund supported 5 million VND for the baby's heart surgery. Ms. Vo Tran Truc Ngan (Nhi's mother) shared: "After the surgery, Nhi is now healthier, more agile, and no longer has difficulty breathing like before. I am very grateful for the support of the units and the Provincial Children's Support Fund for helping my child overcome the disease"...
Khang and Nhi are just two of many children in the province who have been supported by the Provincial Children's Fund to perform congenital heart surgery. From 2024 to now, the Provincial Children's Fund has mobilized and coordinated with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Tam Duc Heart Hospital, the Association for Supporting Poor Patients of Ho Chi Minh City, the Provincial General Hospital, businesses and philanthropists to support congenital heart surgery for 15 children with a total cost of more than 2 billion VND.
Ms. Nguyen Dinh Hong Loan - Director of the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Social Work said that in recent years, the Provincial Children's Fund has closely coordinated with units and localities to actively mobilize resources to care for and support children. From the beginning of 2023 to February 2025, the fund has mobilized more than 1 billion VND to support and care for more than 5,180 children in the province. Actively promote fund building
According to the survey, there are still many poor and disadvantaged children in the province who need assistance. Meanwhile, the mobilization resources of the Provincial Children's Support Fund are still limited, so they cannot fully meet the needs of children. Currently, the District and Commune Children's Support Funds have stopped operating, so the fund collection work in the province has become more difficult. At the same time, the mobilization of contributions to the Children's Support Fund under the program in coordination with the Provincial Labor Federation for many years has been carried out on the voluntary spirit of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, so there are still difficulties in the process of mobilizing contributions to the fund.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tri - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation said that currently, the whole province has developed 1,525 grassroots unions with more than 95,600 union members. In order to improve the quality of support for children, especially children of union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, in the coming time, the Provincial Labor Federation aims to mobilize all union members, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the province to contribute to the Children's Support Fund with a minimum of VND 20,000/person/year and strives to have more than 85% of the total union members and workers participate.
To achieve the set results, the Provincial Federation of Labor focuses on disseminating to union members and workers about the effectiveness and significance of the contributions and activities of the Provincial Children's Support Fund, the responsibility of society in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children; calling for voluntary support to have funding sources to support children. At the same time, actively mobilizing units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to directly sponsor children in special circumstances or participate in charitable social activities for children. Along with that, organizing activities to support children in the province from the mobilized funds of the Provincial Children's Support Fund to ensure publicity, transparency, the right subjects and high efficiency...
