Continuing and multiplying the cultural source of Thanh land

There is a saying that one should look at the economy to respect it, and look at culture to respect it. In the current development stage, many localities have exploited cultural values ​​well, using culture as a "support" and a conduit to develop the economy and expand diplomatic relations.

Assessing and recognizing the importance of culture, from the beginning, in the Party's first Political Platform in 1930, our Party mentioned the issue of cultural and human development. The documents of the 13th National Congress of the Party comprehensively assessed the results of work and lessons learned from previous terms, in which the development of Vietnamese culture and people is one of the particularly important contents in the orientation of national development in the new period. Our Party's viewpoint is that cultural development must be placed on par with economics, politics, and society; investing in culture and people is investing in rapid and sustainable development. Many experts also affirm that to develop the economy, we must first promote cultural development.

In recent years, Thanh Hoa has emerged not only as a bright spot in economic development, but also known for its cultural values, cultural works, large-scale cultural life building movements, and the friendly and courageous people of Thanh Hoa... The 18th Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020, has identified the task: "Developing culture, building a beautiful image of the land and people of Thanh Hoa in the hearts of domestic and international friends"; The Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress also sets out the requirement: "Strongly developing culture and sports, creating a foundation for Thanh Hoa to become one of the major cultural and sports centers of the region and the whole country".

Up to now, the work of building and developing Thanh Hoa culture and people has generally had a lot of efforts, but it is still not commensurate with the potential, expectations and requirements of the province. Cultural and human development has not had a large, synchronous and long-term orientation; the strength of the community in building and developing culture has not been exploited and promoted well to become the will and determination of the entire political system and the entire people. This task continues to pose higher requirements in the current development stage.

To overcome the shortcomings and limitations and inherit and promote the good cultural values, historical and revolutionary traditions of the homeland, selectively absorb the cultural quintessence of the nation and humanity; build and comprehensively develop culture and people, becoming the driving force and endogenous strength to promote Thanh Hoa's rapid and sustainable development, on July 4, 2024, the Provincial Party Executive Committee issued Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU on continuing to build and develop Thanh Hoa's culture and people in the new period.

A continuation of the cultural source, the task of promoting the cultural values ​​and people of Thanh Hoa in the new development stage has begun. Based on the tasks set out in the resolution, it requires sectors, localities and units to fully grasp the viewpoints, goals, key tasks and main solutions, and develop specific plans to implement each goal and task. Allocate adequate investment resources for culture, including increasing investment levels, support from the State budget as well as calling for the active participation of the people, so that culture truly becomes the driving force for the development of Thanh Hoa province.
