Recently, many football clubs and training classes have opened in Lao Cai city, attracting a large number of students and young people to participate.
This summer, every day at 7 a.m., 14-year-old Lam Quang Huy from Kim Tan ward goes with his friends to the artificial turf football field in Duyen Hai ward to practice. Huy said: "I really like playing football because it brings me a lot of joy. Playing football also helps me improve my health and keeps my spirits high."
Many football clubs and classes have been opened, attracting teenagers and children in the city to participate. For example, the HQ Lao Cai Community Football Club, established in 2021, currently has 200 students aged 7 to 14. During the summer, the club organizes regular activities every day of the week. The club provides full uniforms and training equipment, and employs experienced coaches. Over two months, the children learn basic football knowledge such as ball control, passing techniques, receiving the ball, dribbling, advanced shooting, throw-ins, heading, individual defense, group defense, attack, and teamwork. After technical and physical training exercises, the coaches organize teams into practice matches.

All members undergo assessments to determine their physical condition and basic football skills, from which the club will develop training programs suitable for each age group. In particular, we regularly organize an internal tournament once a month so that young players can gain experience, interact, and enjoy the spirit of sportsmanship ."
Recently, the first Lao Cai Province U9, U11, and U13 Football Tournament - 2024, organized by the DTH KIDS Community Football Center in Lao Cai City, attracted hundreds of young athletes from football clubs in the city. Mr. Dang Chung Hieu, Director of the DTH KIDS Community Football Center, said: "As the host of the first Lao Cai Province U9, U11, and U13 Football Tournament - 2024, the center recognizes this as an opportunity for children to interact, learn, showcase their talents and passion for football, and develop their competitive skills..."
By joining football clubs and training classes, children not only experience positive changes in their physique, physical fitness, and football skills, but also develop life skills, improve discipline, foster team spirit, and enhance teamwork abilities. Nguyen Xuan Dat, an 8th-grade student at Ngo Van So Secondary School (Lao Cai Ward), shared: "I'm currently participating in the Ngo Van So Secondary School Football Club. Every year, we participate in the Lao Cai Ward Youth Football Tournament. This is an opportunity for us to cultivate a competitive spirit and interact with friends who share the same passion for football."
Youth and children's football clubs in the city provide an environment for children to train and improve their health, allowing them to have a productive summer. It is very possible that young football talents will be nurtured and guided on the path to becoming professional football players from these clubs.
