Truong Cong Chieu was born into a family with a tradition in the arts. His father, Truong Cong Chien, is an artist who plays traditional Vietnamese musical instruments and currently works at the Quang Ninh Art Troupe. Inheriting his father's artistic talent, Chieu was fascinated by learning to play the flute from a young age. By the fifth grade, he knew how to play several types of flutes.

Recognizing his son's passion and talent, Chiêu started learning traditional musical instruments when he was in 6th grade and occasionally participated in artistic performances with his father. In 2015, after graduating from high school, Chiêu passed the entrance exam to the Faculty of Traditional Musical Instruments at Ha Long University (Quang Ninh).

With her talent, abilities, and acquired knowledge, Chieu was frequently selected to participate in many music and folk art programs. Besides playing the flute, Chieu also plays several other instruments such as the zither and guitar. She has won numerous awards at folk art festivals and competitions organized by her school and local authorities. Notably, in 2020, Chieu won first prize in the Quang Ninh province's young talent competition. In September 2021, Chieu graduated with honors and joined the Quang Ninh Art Troupe.

Knowing Chieu's strengths, his unit commander assigned him to oversee the unit's cultural and artistic activities. Since enlisting, Chieu has always participated wholeheartedly in cultural and artistic activities, especially in unit gatherings, seminars, competitions, and performances, contributing to the enhancement of the cultural and spiritual life of officers and soldiers. Truong Cong Chieu shared: “Among traditional musical instruments, I have a particular passion for the bamboo flute because it is a simple, popular instrument with captivating sounds. After completing my military service, I hope to continue my father's tradition and work in the arts...”
