On the morning of July 16, Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee held a preliminary review of the implementation of component project 2, Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway phase 1.
Component 2 project passes through Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces with a total length of over 11km, with 665 households affected. Of which, Tien Giang side is over 8km, with 420 households, Dong Thap side is nearly 4km, with 188 households.

Mr. Phan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Cai Be District People's Committee, said that the district has approved the compensation, support and resettlement budget for 420 affected households and arranged resettlement areas with a total amount of over 1,000 billion VND. 100% of compensation, support and resettlement payments have been made, with a total amount of nearly 819 billion VND.
Also in component project 2, but the section through Dong Thap province has only cleared 88% of the land. The remaining 22 out of 188 households have not received the money and are complaining about the price. Currently, the local government of Dong Thap province is urgently propagating and mobilizing households to receive the money and hand over the land for the project.
According to Mr. Tran Van Bon, Director of Tien Giang Department of Transport, the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project phase 1, component 2 on Tien Giang side has two interconnecting intersections including: the intersection with provincial road 850 in Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province and the intersection with Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway in Cai Be district, Tien Giang province.
Along with that, there are 11 bridges on the route, of which two are in Dong Thap province and 9 are in Tien Giang province.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Son (79 years old, residing in An Thai Trung hamlet, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) said that his family had more than 4,000m2 affected and had to relocate to hand over the site to the project.
His family received the money and handed over the land as soon as possible. "I am very happy and support the investment policy of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project, so I received the money and handed over the land immediately. When completed, the project will facilitate travel and transportation of goods for people in the Mekong Delta provinces," said Mr. Son.

Mr. Nguyen Van Son is also one of 10 households awarded by the People's Committee of Tien Giang province with over 5.2 million VND for receiving money and handing over the project site the earliest.
At the conference, Mr. Tran Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, requested Cai Be district to continue working with communes where the project passes through to propagate and mobilize organizations and individuals to relocate houses, structures, electricity and water systems... to soon hand over the project site.
Mr. Dung also recommended that Dong Thap province hand over the site soon so that the project can start construction in late July 2024.
Previously, the Government approved the adjustment of the investment policy for the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway construction project, phase 1. The total investment of the project is 7,496 billion VND, an increase of 1,610 billion VND compared to the total investment in the pre-feasibility study report approved by the Prime Minister. The main reason for the increase in the total investment of the project is due to the increase in site clearance costs and the adjustment of construction costs.
Component 1 project through Dong Thap province has a total investment of over 3,600 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is about 623 billion VND. This project was started by Dong Thap province in June 2023.
Component project 2 has a total investment capital of over 3,800 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is over 1,000 billion VND.
The Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway starts at the intersection with the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway in Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province. The end point is at the intersection with the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway in Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province.
Of which, component project 1 is 16km long, passing through Dong Thap province, component project 2 is 11.4km long, located in Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces.
The scale of the completed phase cross-section meets the standards of a four-lane highway, with an emergency lane. The cross-section of phase 1 is divided into four lanes, with a roadbed width of 17m and an operating speed of 80km/h.
