According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (DAH) of Tien Giang province, the locality currently has 1,782 birdhouses, ranking second in the country (after Kien Giang province). The average output is 20 tons per year, concentrated in Go Cong City, Cai Lay Town and the districts of Go Cong Tay, Go Cong Dong, Cho Gao, Cai Lay.
In order to sustainably and effectively develop the bird's nest farming industry, based on Plan 20/KH-UBND dated February 19, 2023 of the People's Committee of Tien Giang province on socio -economic development and improving the business environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness in 2023, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has developed and implemented a plan to support the development of key agricultural products of Tien Giang province, including bird's nest.

In 2023, 2024 and early 2025, the Department of Agriculture conducted 231 bird droppings samples. Test results showed that all samples were negative for avian influenza and Newcastle viruses.

At the workshop, Mr. Bui Bang Son, Director of Tri Son Trading and Service Co., Ltd., said that the company has been granted a packing house code that is qualified to export to China with a quota of 70 tons/year. The company has linked up with farmers in the area to form a raw material area with a system of 253 birdhouses that are qualified to officially export to China.
When participating in the chain, the company purchases bird's nests at reasonable prices, limiting market risks, especially when prices fluctuate, while increasing prestige and trust with consumers.

“Based on practical needs, Tri Son bird nest is proposing to the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to allow the establishment of the Tien Giang Bird Nest Association with the goal of becoming an important bridge between organizations, businesses and bird nest farming households in the province, opening up opportunities for sustainable development and increasing the value of Vietnamese bird nests in the market,” Mr. Bui Bang Son added.
Also at the workshop, a number of bird nest farms signed a contract to join the chain of production and consumption of bird nests with Tri Son Trading and Service Company Limited.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang Province Trinh Cong Minh said that the bird's nest farming industry is facing increasingly difficult times. With the current number of bird's nest houses, increasing output will be increasingly difficult. Therefore, bird's nest farming facilities need to focus on improving product quality to increase value.
At the same time, it is recommended that affiliated agencies study mechanisms to support establishments in developing the bird's nest farming industry. The establishment of the Bird's Nest Association will help the bird's nest industry develop further.
