Tien Giang: Criminal detention of woman who abused children in Tan Lap 1 commune

As reported by Ap Bac Newspaper, on April 2, a clip was circulated on social media showing a young child being repeatedly beaten in the head and face by a nanny at a daycare facility in Tan Tap 1 Commune, Tan Phuoc District. The clip caused public outrage after being posted.

According to information from Tan Lap 1 Commune Police, on April 1, this agency received a report from Ms. Dinh TK, born in 1994, with permanent residence in Tan Lap village, Dak Ru commune, Dak R'Lap district, Dak Nong province and temporarily residing in Hamlet 3, Tan Lap 1 commune, Tan Phuoc district, about her child being beaten at a childcare center.

The content of the incident as presented by Ms. K. is that on March 31, 2025, as usual in the morning, she took her biological child, Duong Ngoc A.Nh., born on September 18, 2023, residing at the same address, to leave the child at the spontaneous childcare center of Mr. Nguyen Tr.T.'s household, in Hamlet 4, Tan Lap 1 Commune so that Ms. K. could go to work as a worker at Long Giang Industrial Park. At about 3:30 p.m. the same day, when observing the camera at the childcare center, Ms. K. discovered that the childcare worker, Nguyen Thi HT, had used her hand to hit Duong Ngoc A.Nh., so Ms. K. went to the childcare center to pick up baby Nh. and then took her to Saigon Cuu Long General Clinic - Long Giang Industrial Park for examination, the result was that baby Nh. had a swelling in the head area, but is currently in normal health.

Through investigation and verification by the authorities, this is a spontaneous childcare center and was forced to stop operating by the government because it did not have a license to practice and the childcare worker did not have a professional degree.
