Tien Giang: Open 25 public water taps to serve people during the drought and salinity season

Public water taps in Kieng Phuoc commune, Go Cong Dong district are still flowing strongly.

Accordingly, by April 10, the company had installed a total of 25 public taps to supply water to people in downstream areas as requested by the locality, mainly in Go Cong Dong district. Specifically, in Kieng Phuoc commune there are 6 taps, Tan Tay commune 3 taps, Tan Dien commune 4 taps, Phuoc Trung commune 5 taps, Tan Phuoc commune 3 taps, Tan Thanh commune 4 taps. The water output supplied through public taps is more than 1,358 ^m3 .

Also according to comrade Ho Huu Nhan, based on the official dispatch of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province requesting to open public water taps to provide domestic water for households in Phu Tan and Tan Phu communes, Tan Phu Dong district, the company has surveyed the installation locations and will do so this week.

In the coming time, the company will continue to proactively coordinate with local authorities to open more public water taps in areas of eastern districts and cities when requested.

According to the plan to prevent, combat and respond to drought and saltwater intrusion in the dry season of 2024 - 2025 of the People's Committee of Tien Giang province, the province will open public water taps from water supply stations for people in remote communes, outside the dike, and scattered households who have not used water from centralized water supply stations to get water for free.

This is a solution that the province has focused on implementing in recent years to ensure domestic water for people in the eastern region during the dry season.

In general, thanks to proactive implementation of plans and solutions, up to now, the situation of providing domestic water to serve people in the province is still guaranteed.
