In 1993, on the 30th anniversary of the Victory at Ap Bac, the site was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Thanks to the investment and support of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province, and various levels of government, the Ap Bac historical site has been rebuilt in a grand and impressive manner. After several renovations, constructions, and expansions, the site now comprises three areas:
- Area 1: Monument area.
- Area 2: a recreation of our base from the period of the resistance war against the US, covering an area of approximately 7000m2.
- Area 3: Ap Bac Victory Museum.
