On the morning of December 8, at the Southern National Funeral Home (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), the Party Committee and the Military Region 7 Command held a solemn funeral to send off 12 martyrs who died while performing defensive combat exercises at the National Shooting Range Region 3.

Visiting the 12 martyrs were many former leaders of the Party and State, including former President Truong Tan Sang, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and former Standing Member of the Secretariat Le Hong Anh.
The Ministry of National Defense's funeral delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of National Defense, also visited the martyrs.
The Ho Chi Minh City delegation included Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors also present to bid farewell.
The visitation will be held from 7:15 a.m. on December 8. The funeral and burial ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.
After the memorial service, the martyrs were buried at martyr cemeteries in Binh Thuan, Binh Duong, Dong Nai provinces and several other localities.
At the funeral, Deputy Minister of National Defense Vo Minh Luong said that the martyrs' sacrifice demonstrated their bravery, determination, and disregard for hardships and dangers in carrying out drills to prepare combat plans, protect the peace of the Fatherland, and the prosperous, free, and happy lives of the people.
“Our 12 beloved soldiers have passed away forever at the age of 20, full of youthful vitality, leaving behind endless pain and sorrow that nothing can compensate for,” Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong wrote in the condolence book.
