Comrade Tran Tuan Anh was pleased to welcome Secretary Janet Yellen to visit and work in Vietnam in the context of the two countries celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership (2013-2023).
Affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to its relationship with the United States, comrade Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated the achievements and great developments in the relationship between the two countries that have brought practical benefits, in line with the aspirations of the people of the two countries.
Thanking the United States for its cooperation and support for Vietnam in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, the Head of the Central Economic Commission expressed his belief that the Vietnam-US relationship will soon reach new heights for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Asia-India-Pacific region and the world.
Vietnam and the United States have signed many important cooperation agreements and are actively building the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, closely coordinating in regional and international forums such as ASEAN, APEC, WTO, etc.
Appreciating the strong development of Vietnam-US economic cooperation, with two-way trade turnover in 2022 reaching a record high, comrade Tran Tuan Anh said that the potential to attract abundant, high-quality FDI capital from the US to Vietnam is still very large.
He expressed his hope that both sides would strongly promote and further deepen cooperation in economics, science, technology, trade - investment, finance and banking, cooperation in ensuring supply chains, infrastructure and new, potential fields such as logistics, digital economy, green transformation, healthcare, sustainable agriculture, energy transformation and environmental protection; at the same time, he requested the US Treasury to continue working and closely coordinating with Vietnam, continuing to objectively and appropriately assess the results of Vietnam's monetary policy management, thereby contributing to promoting stable and favorable economic - trade - investment relations between the two countries.

Thanking comrade Tran Tuan Anh for taking the time to welcome her, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen expressed her desire to deepen economic - trade - investment relations and soon upgrade the relationship between the two countries;
Emphasizing the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of equitable energy transition, the Minister affirmed that the United States and its partners are ready to support capital, technology, and techniques to help Vietnam promote this process; share and encourage Vietnam to promote policy space to mobilize other multilateral capital sources to realize the set goals.
Sharing the US's desire to help Vietnam become an important link in the process of building a diverse and sustainable supply chain, including in the semiconductor sector, Secretary Janet Yellen recommended that Vietnam needs to have solutions to attract strong investment in this field and the US is ready to support Vietnam in improving its capacity in this process.
Affirming that IPEF, when effective, will help strongly promote both trade and investment between the two countries, the Minister appreciated the close coordination between the State Bank and the US Treasury Department over the past two years on monetary issues and expressed support for the State Bank's efforts to modernize monetary and exchange rate policies.
