(Dan Tri) - Su-27 fighter jets, Yak-130 aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters continuously dropped bombs and fired rockets at targets, successfully completing their missions in the TB-2 exercise in Binh Dinh of the Air Defense - Air Force Service.

On the morning of September 24, in Binh Dinh, Division 372 coordinated with the Air Force Officer School (Air Defense - Air Force) to organize a live-fire, bombing and ammunition exercise in 2024. At 4:00 a.m. at Phu Cat military airport (Binh Dinh), the fighter planes participating in the mission opened their tarpaulins and "lit up" in the hangar. The technical unit performed its mission in an urgent atmosphere, filled with the roar of jet engines and the sound of weapons being disassembled and reassembled... Air Regiment 925 (Division 372) participates in exercises with modern Su-27 fighters. Air Force Regiment 940 (Air Force Officer School) participated in live-fire and bombing drills with modern Yak-130 training aircraft.
Technical teams install bombs and rockets on hangers and launchers, ready for pilots and flight crews to take off and perform their missions. The exercise aims to improve the technical skills of pilots and flight crew members in piloting, navigating and applying combat attacks on targets, while improving the ability to organize, command and conduct training of officers and flight commanders of all components, ensuring that all levels of flight training use weapons. After the aviation technical force completed the preparation of the aircraft before the flight, the pilots and the command and security organization members were deployed to the airport, performing tasks at all stations and stations according to regulations. At this time, the Su-27 fighter jet took off for meteorological reconnaissance. At the TB-2 shooting range, attending and directing the exercise were Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Major General Bui Thien Thau, Deputy Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force; Major General Ta Quang Thao, Deputy Director of the Military Training Department, General Staff; representatives of the Service agencies; Division 372; Air Force Officer School and representatives of armed forces units and representatives of local Party committees and authorities in the stationed area.
On the first day of the exercise, pilots and crew members of Air Force Regiment 925 (Division 372) flew Su-27 fighter jets carrying bombs, rockets, and artillery shells, conducting dozens of solo flights and complex maneuvering formation flights, diving to destroy ground targets in simple daytime meteorological conditions. All flights of shooting, bombing and live ammunition hit targets, destroyed targets and ensured absolute safety. Mi-8 helicopters of Air Force Regiment 930 (Division 372) "spit fire" and shoot rockets to destroy targets on the ground. The Yak-130 is a highly multi-role training aircraft, demonstrating strong combat capabilities. Many ground targets were destroyed by the pilots of Regiment 940 using rockets, bombs and artillery fire. The bombing and live-fire drills of the air force units took place as planned, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and technical equipment. The pilots and flight crew returned to Phu Cat airport, landed safely, and completed the drill mission. At the end of the day's exercise, many pilots and crew members performed well and excellently in the shooting and bombing and live ammunition dropping missions, including many young pilots participating in the mission for the first time. The leaders of the Air Defense - Air Force, Division 372 and the Air Force Officer School commended and encouraged the pilots and crew members participating in the TB-2 shooting and bombing and live ammunition dropping exercise in 2024.
