The information was exchanged at the workshop on applying artificial intelligence to organizational management, school management and teaching to meet the requirements of digital transformation in Vietnam, which took place on the morning of October 17.
The workshop was organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Lifelong Learning (SEAMEO CELLL) in coordination with relevant units.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Le Thi My Ha, Director of SEAMEO CELLL, said that in recent years, the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) and artificial intelligence (AI) into organizational management, especially in education, has become a trend with the potential to reshape school management and learning processes. This opens up opportunities to improve performance, enhance education quality, and expand the scope of learning beyond the traditional classroom environment.
In addition, the application of technology and artificial intelligence also has the ability to simplify organizational management and school administration processes, reduce administrative burdens and free up time for management teams, especially teachers, to focus on teaching and interacting with students.
Dr. Tommy Tan, founder of DOLPHINE, said that new AI technology in education such as smart tutors provides personalized guidance and feedback to students, thereby adjusting the content and learning pace to suit each individual to increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes. In addition, learning outcome analysis using AI technology helps to better understand student performance and learning behavior. From there, teachers can come up with methods to improve teaching to suit their students.
Additionally, natural language processing (NLP) tools are being used to develop chatbots, virtual assistants, improve learning and engage students.
Currently, some countries in the region have recognized the role of developing AI technology applied in the field of education, such as Myanmar with a project to develop Myanmar language and literature, Khang Panya Lao,... However, the current challenges are human resources, costs as well as infrastructure to develop AI. Therefore, units need to cooperate and share experiences on AI technology to train a new generation of experts in the field of AI technology.
