On the evening of November 21, the Vietnamese women's futsal team competed against Thailand in the final match of the 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship. In the final match of the group stage, Tran Thi Thuy Trang and her teammates lost 0-3 to Thailand, but this was purely a "saving" move by Vietnam.
The best of the best was shown by the Vietnamese women's futsal team in the final match. The Vietnamese women's futsal team played tightly and calculatedly, ending the two official halves with a 0-0 draw. Entering extra time, Thuy Trang and her teammates played bravely and took advantage of better opportunities to win 2-1, in which Phuong Anh's winning goal came after a thunderous kick, just 1 minute after Thailand equalized.

Thus, the Vietnamese women's futsal team became the Southeast Asian champion. Thuy Trang also set an unprecedented record, becoming the first Vietnamese player to win the regional championship in both the 11-a-side and futsal fields.
In the Vietnamese women's team, Thuy Trang won the SEA Games and AFF Women's Cup, playing an important role in coach Mai Duc Chung's squad. The midfielder born in 1988 is a persistent and creative player in the midfield, with the ability to compete and control that is difficult for any female midfielder to match.
Notably, Thuy Trang played for the Vietnamese women's futsal team from 2011 to 2013 (winning 2 SEA Games silver medals), then stepped up to the 11-a-side field and won many brilliant glories. She said goodbye to the Vietnamese women's team in 2023 to devote herself to the Ho Chi Minh City women's team, then returned to the futsal field.

In this year's tournament, although not playing as regularly as Phuong Anh and Thanh Hang, Thuy Trang still made a great contribution in terms of both experience and "weirdness". With more than a decade of professional football experience, having competed in many major tournaments in 11-a-side and futsal, Thuy Trang has brought to the Vietnamese futsal team the courage to stand firm in the most difficult times.
The Southeast Asian championship is a worthy reward for the "enduring engine" of Vietnamese women's football.
