Tourists visit Thuy Tien Lake |
Khai Dinh Tomb (Ung Lang) is one of the tourist attractions located in Thuy Bang ward, chosen by many tourists in the system of tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty. According to Ms. Thanh Tam - a tour guide of Hue , with an architectural style that blends Asia and Europe, the highlight is the ceramic pieces that create symmetrical paintings in the interior of the tomb, which is considered the difference between the royal tombs, so Khai Dinh Tomb is always chosen by many tourists in Hue sightseeing tours. Moreover, the surrounding area also has additional attractions such as Thuy Tien Lake tourist area, Le Ba Dang Memorial Space, Thien An Hill, connecting with Thuy Xuan incense village, Thuy Bieu eco-tourism area... so it is very convenient to move around.
With the advantage of owning a series of valuable historical relics, such as Thieu Tri and Khai Dinh tombs - unique architectural works of the Nguyen Dynasty along with famous scenic spots, in recent times, Thuy Bang ward has attracted many people and tourists to visit. Along with that is the Quan The Am statue, this is one of the important spiritual destinations, attracting many pilgrims and tourists inside and outside the city to visit, burn incense to pray for blessings and fortune.
"On the 15th, 30th, and 1st of the lunar month every month or on holidays and Tet, the Quan The Am statue is crowded with people and pilgrims coming to visit and offer incense. Because there are many staff members to maintain order, the stalls selling incense, flowers, and souvenirs have self-managed teams to manage the business, so it is quite orderly, there is no fighting for customers or chaos in the statue grounds," said Ms. Hoang Thi Nga, a resident of Phuong Duc ward, who came to offer incense.
In order to complete the infrastructure connecting tourist routes, in recent times, the ward has prioritized resources to invest in traffic infrastructure, lighting systems, and beautification and environmental sanitation of roads and residential areas through the movements "Green Sunday", "Pink of the Ancient Capital"..., creating a civilized and clean urban space. Currently, the lighting system has covered 100% of main roads and about 80% of branching routes in the area. In early March 2025, the city continued to invest 1.2 billion VND to complete the Gia Long - Luc Lo route; the ward invested in upgrading and repairing bridges and culverts to serve the needs of the people and develop tourism.
Ms. Le Thi Mai Xuan, Vice Chairman of Thuy Bang Ward People's Committee, said that to ensure the safety of tourists and urban order at tourist attractions, the Ward People's Committee has arranged for police, militia, and urban forces to coordinate with the security forces of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to regularly patrol and control to prevent theft, pickpocketing, and handle unsightly behaviors such as begging, touts, and street vendors harassing visitors. At the Quan The Am statue in particular, the ward has also implemented many measures such as building business kiosks, organizing self-management groups to coordinate with people in environmental sanitation, and regulating trade, contributing to building the image of a civilized, polite, and safe spiritual tourist area.
To continue to effectively exploit heritage and spiritual tourism, in the coming time, Thuy Bang ward will invest in additional electricity and traffic systems to connect tourist tours and improve the landscape of the Quan The Am monument area. At the same time, coordinate with the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa district to carry out site clearance when the city implements projects in the area; including the Trinh Cong Son cultural area project which is in the process of calling for investment, aiming to attract more domestic and international tourists to visit and stay in the area.
