Vietnam Trade Office in India organizes webinar on UPITS International Trade Exhibition 2024

On September 11, 2024, the Vietnam Trade Office in India organized an online Webinar with the theme "Learn about UP International Trade Exhibition (UPITS) 2024" to introduce the exhibition taking place from September 25-29, 2024 in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The event attracted the participation of nearly 40 delegates from the Department of Industry and Trade, Trade Promotion Center, associations and many businesses interested in the Indian market.

Opening the program, Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong, First Secretary, introduced the program, content and purpose of the online Webinar organized by the Trade Office.

Ms. Hoang Thi Yen, First Secretary, presented details about the UPITS 2024 Exhibition. Accordingly, the exhibition is expected to attract more than 2,500 exhibitors, 500 approved buyers from 60 countries, with a wide range of displayed products, from agricultural products, processed foods, fibers, textiles, to tourism, aviation, technology and services. UPITS is considered one of India's largest international trade events, creating thousands of B2B trading opportunities between global businesses.

In particular, the Vietnam Trade Office will organize a Vietnam Pavilion with an area of ​​up to 120 m², divided into 4 main areas:

Agricultural and processed food area: Displaying Vietnam's key agricultural products such as coffee, cashew nuts, fruits and processed products. Fiber, silk and textile area: Introducing high-quality products in the textile industry and raw materials from Vietnam.

Tourism and aviation service promotion area: Introducing attractive tourist destinations and modern aviation services of Vietnam. Cultural and culinary promotion area: Bringing Vietnamese cuisine and unique cultural identity closer to international friends.

The deal also highlights the important role of participating in the exhibition in Vietnam’s long-term strategy to increase its presence in the Indian market, which has a population of 1.4 billion people and diverse and rich consumer demand. India has become one of Vietnam’s largest trading partners in the South Asian region, with bilateral trade turnover reaching nearly 15 billion USD in 2023.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, Counselor - Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India, emphasized the role of UPITS 2024 in creating opportunities for economic connection and cooperation between Vietnam and India, especially for businesses in the fields of agricultural products, textiles, tourism and aviation. Mr. Thuong emphasized that participating in this event will help Vietnamese businesses expand their markets, find new business partners and grasp the development trends of one of the most potential markets in South Asia.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the Trade Office will coordinate with domestic and Indian agencies to organize the Vietnam – India Business Forum, creating conditions for businesses of the two countries to meet directly and discuss cooperation opportunities. Businesses participating in the event will also have the opportunity to attend trade, networking and global business meetings arranged by the UPITS Organizing Committee, helping to access the Indian market more deeply.

The webinar participants highly appreciated the useful information from the event. Many businesses expressed their desire to participate in the UPITS 2024 Exhibition and requested the Trade Office to continue providing more detailed documents and instructions.
