Seeing that the man was showing signs of hunger and exhaustion, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Thoa arranged food and accommodation for the man to ensure his health.

Because the man was deaf, communication was very difficult. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Thoa tried to verify his identity as Sung Mi To (born in 1977, in Then Phang commune, Xin Man district, Ha Giang province).
