On the morning of May 5, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, received Colonel Dheeraj Kotwal, Indian Defense Attaché in Vietnam.
At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that on the basis of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the Vietnam-India defense cooperation has been constantly consolidated and enhanced, achieving many substantive results.
The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense highly appreciated the functional agencies of the two sides for effectively coordinating and implementing cooperation areas on the basis of signed documents and agreements; exchange activities, mutual contacts and cooperation mechanisms were flexibly implemented with practical and outstanding results in areas such as: Human resource training; effective implementation of aid and credit packages of the Indian Government for the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense; cooperation between military branches and services; defense industry; United Nations peacekeeping; exchanges between strategic research agencies and coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his belief that Colonel Dheeraj Kotwal, in his position, will closely coordinate with the functional agencies of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, effectively implementing the cooperation contents agreed upon by the leaders of the two countries' Ministries of National Defense in accordance with the Joint Vision Statement on Defense Partnership until 2030; focusing on activities such as the official visit of the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense to India; cooperation between military and service branches; defense industry; United Nations peacekeeping; cyber security; military medicine; maritime security; transfer of used ships, etc.
For his part, Colonel Dheeraj Kotwal thanked the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for taking the time to meet him; agreed with the proposal of Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien; emphasized that in recent years, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India has developed comprehensively and substantially in all fields, in which bilateral defense cooperation is one of the bright spots. Colonel Dheeraj Kotwal affirmed that in his position, he will make important contributions to promoting the development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in general, and defense cooperation in particular.

On the morning of April 19, at the Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station (Tay Ninh Province), the 6th Vietnam - Cambodia Defense Policy Dialogue took place.
