Artisan Le Thi Thiet - President of Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association said that the main activity of the 2024 Pho Festival is more than 50 booths of businesses, brands, and culinary artists who will participate in introducing and promoting Vietnamese pho flavors from all over the country. These booths operate from 9am to 10pm every day to serve visitors, bringing many unique pho flavors such as ginseng pho, A Luoi green banana powder pho, lotus pho, artichoke pho, etc.
In addition to enjoying different types of pho, visitors to the 2024 Pho Festival in Nam Dinh will also have the opportunity to experience the pho making process, visit the traditional pho craft village of Van Cu (Nam Truc district), learn about the development of the pho profession from the past to the future... Spaces displaying pho culture, events promoting the theme "Vietnamese pho road", setting records for pho pots... are expected to attract a large number of visitors.
On this occasion, the 2024 Pho Festival and Van Cu Pho Village will welcome diplomatic delegations and international guests to visit and experience, thereby widely promoting Pho to the world. The Organizing Committee hopes that this series of events will elevate Vietnamese cuisine, making Pho a national brand, associated with tourism development and attracting domestic and international visitors. This is also one of the efforts towards compiling a dossier to include Pho in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
According to Mr. Do Quang Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh province, the locality is currently building a dossier on the pho profession to submit to UNESCO for recognition, in which Nam Dinh plays a key role and coordinates with a number of localities across the country. After that, the local government will continue to support the propaganda and promotion of the pho profession; at the same time, build more specific programs to promote and spread the pho profession.
