The Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2023 takes place under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee; organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports with the support of embassies of countries in Vietnam, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and related organizations.
The festival aims to honor, preserve and promote the traditional cultural and culinary values of the capital Hanoi, build and effectively exploit the cultural, culinary and tourism brand through developing a quintessential, unique and quality culture, cuisine and tourism.
According to Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, about 80 booths at the festival will introduce to residents and tourists hundreds of delicious dishes, typical products, and performances by domestic and international chefs and culinary artists.
Visiting the area introducing the culinary culture of traditional craft villages in Hanoi, locals and tourists can enjoy Com Me Tri, So village vermicelli, Che Lam Thach Xa, Ruou lang Ngau, Chao go Quang Phu Cau, Banh cuon Hoa Nam...
Besides, there is an opportunity to learn about the processing of Uoc Le ham, Pho rolls, Thanh Tri traditional rice rolls, Ho Tay shrimp cakes, Quan Ganh sticky rice cakes, Phu Thuong sticky rice and sweet soup, Ha Mo porridge...
Food stalls from provinces and cities offer many attractive regional specialties such as humpbacked banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), smoked meat and mint honey from Ha Giang; Son La coffee and milk; chrysanthemum wine, phu the cake, Bui spring rolls from Bac Ninh; Cham cham peanut candy, Dai Hoang royal banana and Nhan Hau braised fish from Ha Nam.
Not only that, the international food court offers typical dishes from India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines... The highlight is learning the art of making and enjoying tea from several countries.
At traditional craft village stalls, visitors can interact and exchange with artisans, participate in experiences and practice the stages of creating traditional and unique dishes of Hanoi.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said that the sideline activities are also very diverse. People and tourists can enjoy a series of traditional art performances such as Hoi An Bai Choi singing; Traditional music and dance; circus performances; the intangible cultural heritage performance contest "Keeper of the national color"; Ca Tru; Cheo singing; Xam singing; Trong Quan singing; Do singing; Tan Trieu Bong dance; Gong performance of the Muong people...
Besides, there are experiences of making clay figurines, making bamboo dragonflies, calligraphy, Dong Ho paintings and some folk games, minigames, and experiencing craft villages...
