Taking place on October 15 and 16, The Makeover 2024 brings together more than 20 experts from 10 countries such as the UK, New Zealand, the Netherlands, India, Vietnam and Singapore.
The need to build a national brand
Sharing at the discussion, when talking about Vietnamese brands, Ms. Tran Tue Tri - senior advisor of Vietnam Brand Purpose, author of the book Vietnamese Brand - Golden Moment - said that we must determine what the world wants and what it is looking for in Vietnam.
It must be quality education, quality healthcare and a sustainable environment to build a long-term life. However, according to Ms. Tri, there needs to be greater awareness of the story of Vietnamese brands associated with green agriculture.
"I think there are two things we need to do: focus on building Vietnam's brand into the largest agricultural center and then together tell the story of Vietnamese agricultural products," said Ms. Tue Tri.
Meanwhile, the roundtable on promoting regional cooperation "Stories from top business leaders" kicked off this year's The Makeover.
Ms. Ziena Jalil (government consultant, member of the Board of Directors of the government agency Education New Zealand) affirmed that a country's brand is extremely important.
That is very necessary for domestic enterprises, even though they do not have their own brand, to initially enter the region and the world. Because trust, integrity, and brand are closely associated with the country in which the enterprise was established.
"It does not mean that any business in a country with a brand name is welcomed when that business itself is not consistent with the country's common standards, which are transparency, humanity, and sustainability," Ms. Ziena Jalil emphasized.
The Makeover discusses new work trends
Mr. Puneet Swani, former senior director of Mercer, said that the world is witnessing major changes in climate, political conflicts, economic crises, employment... Therefore, to be successful, we must be prepared for change.
There are many major factors that have impacted and changed the working trends of workers around the world. Starting from the priority of cutting working hours to the minimum, jobs focused on creating environments and products that prioritize health and spirit.
He mentioned building a healthy working environment with many social security policies to attract talent. The mindset of workers has also changed, from working hard to accumulate to living well for the present.
It is also about redefining the concept of office environment, whether it is necessary for employees to come to the headquarters every working day of the week. Finally, it is about digitization, applying digital technology solutions and creating corporate culture.
"So we need to focus on designing jobs that are human-centric. Automation is good, but machines still need humans to understand and operate them.
We must understand that automation is only to improve people's lives, it cannot replace or erase the role of humans," Mr. Puneet Swani shared.
