At the end of the working day, Ms. Pham Thi Tu (living in Binh Thanh District) quickly stopped by the Co.opmart supermarket near her office to shop and prepare dinner for her family.

She also said that having a wide selection of vegetarian products at the supermarket helps reduce her stress because she wants to ensure that her whole family has delicious yet nutritious meals.
Not only the elderly, many young people also choose to be vegetarian during Vu Lan season to show their gratitude. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (24 years old, living in District 5) believes that being vegetarian is not only a cultural beauty but also helps purify the body and soul. Hoa often chooses reputable supermarkets such as Co.opmart to buy fresh ingredients, ensuring safety for health.
"I'm worried after reading information about the quality of vegetarian food in the news recently, so I always prioritize shopping at reputable places and cooking at home" - Hoa shared.
Hoa is not a special case, many housewives also share certain concerns about food hygiene, choosing to prepare vegetarian dishes at home to ensure food hygiene and safety and save costs.
Saigon Co.op offers big discounts on vegetarian food
Grasping the increasing demand of consumers during Vu Lan month, Saigon Co.op system launched a series of attractive promotional programs from August 15 to August 28 at more than 800 points of sale nationwide.
Accordingly, vegetarian food products such as fermented bean curd, vegetarian oyster sauce, soy sauce, vegetarian fish sauce, vegetarian satay, vegetarian vermicelli soup seasoning balls, vegetarian chili salt, all kinds of vegetarian instant noodles, vegetarian spare ribs, vegetarian chicken balls, vegetarian head cheese, vegetarian cereal pate, vegetarian lotus seed porridge, soft tofu, peas, vegetarian wontons... and many other products are heavily discounted from only 3,900 VND to 119,800 VND.
A representative of Saigon Co.op said that from now until the end of August, the supermarket will continue to cooperate with suppliers to organize the "Mushroom Festival of All Kinds", with the goal of diversifying vegetarian dishes and bringing more choices to customers during the 7th lunar month.
The promotion program applies at supermarket chains such as Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food and Finelife in Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast, the Southwest and the Central Highlands, with discounts of 15-30% on mushrooms, including fresh cordyceps, brown lingzhi mushrooms, Thai enoki mushrooms, white lingzhi mushrooms, Korean enoki mushrooms, with discounts of 23-24%... Other vegetables, fruits and vegetarian products are also heavily discounted to meet consumer demand during the Vu Lan holiday season.
In addition, vegetables, fruits, and processed vegetarian products such as vegetarian dimsum, vegetarian spare ribs, Ly Son shallots, green mustard, bitter melon, white cabbage, South African Fuji apples, Tai Nung pears... will also be discounted from 15 - 25%, applicable from now until August 21.
