ETtoday News Cloud reported that on June 27, a social media user shared the nightmare experience of himself and his sister at a famous stall at Keelung Night Market on the same afternoon.
Accordingly, both of them ordered braised pork and tofu rice from Tien Yi Hsiang restaurant, known as the place that sells the best dish in Keelung city, Taiwan, China.
However, as soon as she tried the first piece of bean curd, this diner was shocked to discover there was a cockroach inside. She even vomited continuously afterwards because she felt so horrible.
Contrary to what many people thought, the restaurant reacted very indifferently to the incident. They offered the customer a refund to forget the matter. This was also the main reason why the victim was upset and went online to "expose".
According to Lianhe News Network, the local health bureau inspected the restaurant the following morning and found nothing unusual.
The restaurant owner admitted that the staff's offer of a refund was an inappropriate way to handle the situation. Owner Tien Yi Hsiang said the problem did not originate with the restaurant, as the fried tofu was imported from elsewhere.
Keelung Health Bureau inspected Dechang store, which supplied fried tofu to the restaurant, and found the on-site production facility to be very unsanitary. They ordered the store to be temporarily shut down pending further investigation.
