At the announcement, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in performing its assigned functions and tasks. Ministries, agencies and localities have coordinated well with the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in ethnic affairs, ethnic policies, and management of beliefs and religions; demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and bringing about positive effects.
Besides the achieved results, the implementation of ethnic work, ethnic policies, and management of beliefs and religions still has shortcomings and limitations that need to be focused on overcoming in the coming period.
The Deputy Prime Minister basically agreed with the key tasks in the coming time of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and emphasized that the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions needs to continue to concretize and organize the implementation of directives, resolutions, and conclusions of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government; decisions, directives, and administrative documents of the Prime Minister related to ethnic and religious affairs; focus on directing and organizing the development of projects assigned in the 2025 Work Program of the Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister, ensuring progress and quality.
At the same time, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is concerned with directing and organizing the implementation of tasks and solutions for cultural and social development; implementing well social security policies for ethnic minorities and religious people; preventing hot spots and complications in ethnic minority and religious areas. Continuing to coordinate with central and local agencies to grasp the situation and public opinion related to religious and belief work; proactively building arguments to serve the fight against and refute violations of religious and belief.
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will step up propaganda and mobilize religious followers to properly implement legal regulations on beliefs and religions; closely coordinate and support the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to host the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 in Vietnam.
Along with that, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will resolutely and effectively organize and accelerate the progress of implementation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2025, especially investment capital to implement the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
