On the afternoon of October 15, Comrade Nguyen Van Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee chaired a conference to listen to the draft report on the implementation results of the Thanh Hoa Province Tourism Development Program (CTPTDL) for the period 2021-2025; objectives, tasks, and main solutions for tourism development in Thanh Hoa Province for the period 2026-2030. Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, and localities.

According to the draft report on the implementation results of the Thanh Hoa Tourism Development Program for the 2021-2025 period, 2/4 tourism target groups achieved and exceeded the plan, including the target group on accommodation establishments (total number of accommodation establishments, total number of rooms in accommodation establishments), and the tourism labor group (total number of workers, rate of trained workers).
As of September 2024, the province has 1,300 motels and hotels, with a total of 48,600 rooms. It is expected that by 2025, the total number of accommodation establishments in the province will be about 1,320 establishments, with a total of 50,000 rooms, reaching 100% of the 2025 CTPTDL plan. As of September 2024, the province has 57,800 workers in the tourism industry. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the province will have 62,000 workers in the tourism industry, reaching 100% of the 2025 CTPTDL plan.

The remaining indicators including the number of visitors and total tourism revenue are expected to be difficult to reach the planned target in the 2021-2025 period, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. According to the report, in the 2021-2025 period, the whole province is estimated to welcome over 58.2 million visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 128,886 billion.

The planning work for the development of tourist areas and spots has basically ensured progress and quality, and the planning management work has been strengthened. Up to now, the whole province has 57 plans for tourism development, of which 48 have been approved and 9 are under research.
Investment in tourism development has been focused on, creating positive changes in both scale and quality. Up to now, the province has 190 projects for preserving, repairing, restoring and embellishing relics that have been agreed upon and approved for investment, with a total investment of more than 4,500 billion VND.

The province currently has 70 tourism infrastructure investment projects, of which 47 have been completed and 23 are under implementation. A number of large-scale projects have been completed or newly started, connecting tourist areas in the province, creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit tourist areas, destinations, and scenic spots.
From 2021 to now, the province has approved 5 investment projects and the investment policy approval of 2 projects has expired, bringing the total number of tourism business investment projects being implemented in the province to 81 projects, with a total registered capital of about 153,000 billion VND. Tourism products and services have been developed in a professional direction, initially forming high-end tourism products such as: sea tourism, cultural - historical - spiritual tourism, community eco-tourism, craft tourism, traditional craft villages, developing agricultural farms combined with tourism development, exploiting waterway tourism routes Hai Tien - Dao Ne (Hoang Hoa), Nghi Son - Dao Me (Nghi Son town)...
The draft report also clearly states the objectives, tasks, and solutions for implementing the Thanh Hoa Tourism Development Program for the 2026-2030 period: By 2030, the province strives to welcome 21.5 million visitors, including 1.6 million international visitors. Total tourism revenue reaches VND94,200 billion.
At the same time, focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of approved tourism plans, creating conditions for potential investors to invest in tourism projects and tourism infrastructure to develop the province's tourism industry.
At the conference, delegates basically agreed with the draft report on Thanh Hoa Tourism Development Program for the period 2021-2025.
