On April 20, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Copyright Office, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT&DL) organized the program "Dialogue on mechanisms and policies to promote the development of cultural industries in the music field" to help relevant parties exchange, reflect on the current situation and propose solutions to develop the domestic and international music market.
According to Mr. Tran Hoang, Director of the Copyright Department, this is the first time the agency has organized an open dialogue with businesses and units operating in the music industry. The goal is to grasp the actual situation, difficulties in mechanisms and procedures, and at the same time orient the construction of music events with scale, cultural and economic value and export potential.

At the program, many business representatives frankly shared about the obstacles that are hindering the development of the industry such as cumbersome regulations on licensing events, unclear tax and financial policies, inadequate technical infrastructure, and lack of properly trained human resources. In addition, copyright protection, branding, and development of music products with commercial potential still have many shortcomings.
Units such as Vietnam Idol, BH Media, TikTok Vietnam, Vietfest, Yeah1... also emphasized the role of technology in releasing and exploiting music products, and proposed a public-private partnership mechanism, attracting foreign investment and connecting units in the industry to develop the music industry sustainably.
Representative of Nam Viet Media Company discussed at the seminar.
In addition, organizing short-term and intensive training courses for professionals is also considered necessary to improve the capacity of organizing events and performing arts, thereby building a more professional music market.
Mr. Tran Hoang said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will consider amending relevant legal regulations such as Decree 144, financial policies, administrative procedures... to suit reality, creating more favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to participate in this field.
At the same time, the exchange program “Intellectual Property and Music: Feeling the Rhythm of Intellectual Property” at Nguyen Hue Walking Street was also held to raise public awareness, honor creative values and spread the message about Ho Chi Minh City, the city of artistic creativity.
