Promoting cooperation between Dong Nai and Pinar del Rio province, Cuba

Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Province Ho Thanh Son held talks with First Secretary of Pinar del Río Province Yamilé Ramos Cordero.

The working trip aims to implement the Cooperation Agreement between the Dong Nai and Pinar del Rio Provincial Party Committees, within the overall framework of promoting cooperation between localities of the two countries in the spirit of direction of the senior leaders of Vietnam and Cuba.

During the visit, the delegation held talks with First Secretary of Pinar del Río Province Yamilé Ramos Cordero and Governor Eumelín González Sánchez to discuss the potential for cooperation and investment in areas of strength of the two localities; Vietnam's experience and the important role of promoting grassroots initiatives in economic model innovation.

Dong Nai province delegation donated 100,000 USD to support the urban resilience management and risk reduction project in Pinar del Río province.

The delegation visited a number of socio-economic and health facilities; donated 100,000 USD to support the project on urban resilience management and risk reduction in Pinar del Río province. Due to its geographical location, Pinar del Río province is one of the provinces that regularly suffers heavy damage from storms and tornadoes.

The project contributes to improving the resilience of people's homes as well as the capacity to produce food and basic services after natural disasters in the capital Pinar del Río and the districts of La Palma and Viñales of Cuba.

Head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba's Foreign Affairs Commission received a delegation from Dong Nai province.

During the reception, Comrade Emilio Lozada García, Central Committee member and Head of the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Cuba, expressed his hope that the cooperation between localities of the two countries will contribute to further deepening the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Comrade Emilio Lozada García hopes that Dong Nai and Pinar del Río will develop a specific action plan to implement the Cooperation Agreement between the two Provincial Party Committees and organize the implementation in the most effective and practical way, especially in youth exchanges; exchanges between political and social organizations and promoting trade and investment cooperation for the benefit of both localities.

Dong Nai province delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba.

Ambassador Le Quang Long welcomed the delegation's visit and the practical and specific support of Dong Nai province for the people's livelihood project of Pinar del Rio province, and also proposed some cooperation possibilities in the fields of agriculture and industry for the two localities to consider putting the Cooperation Agreement between the two provinces into practice.

Dong Nai province delegation worked with the President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples.

On this occasion, the delegation offered flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban national hero José Martí, worked with the President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples and visited the Fidel Castro Ruz Center.
