According to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the number of visitors to golf courses is currently increasing significantly. The cost of playing golf in Vietnam is also relatively competitive compared to other countries in the region. Most golf courses are new, fully equipped with modern infrastructure and facilities.

Notably, the golf courses are built in areas and locations with unique geographical and topographical features, and many are designed by world golf legends, including Greg Norman - Vietnam's Tourism Ambassador.

This demonstrates that Vietnam has full potential, strengths, and opportunities to develop golf tourism with its beautiful natural landscapes, diverse mountainous terrain, and a coastline stretching over 3,200km.

According to the latest statistics, Vietnam currently has nearly 100 operational golf courses, and the goal is to have around 200 operational golf courses in the future.

According to a representative from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the coming period, as the economy recovers and stabilizes, the construction of golf courses will continue to be promoted, making Vietnam an attractive golf tourism destination for both domestic and international tourists.

In Quang Nam , Hoiana Resort & Golf, with its Hoiana Shores Golf Club, is ranked 18th in the top 100 golf courses in Asia 2023-2024, according to Golf Travel China and Golf Travel Korea. This is also the highest ranking among golf courses in Vietnam.

Steven Wolstenholme, CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, said that the Hoiana Shores golf course has received particular favor and praise from tourists and golfers from South Korea and Taiwan.

In 2023 alone, Hoiana Shores welcomed over 65,000 golfers, with approximately 95% coming from these two markets.

Quang Nam is considered an ideal destination thanks to its 125km long coastline, tropical climate, diverse topography, and relatively complete and easily accessible transportation infrastructure.

Therefore, developing golf tourism will help Quang Nam attract a large number of domestic and international tourists who are passionate about this sport, especially high-spending tourists who stay for extended periods to experience the golf courses.

Moreover, golf tourism helps Quang Nam develop year-round tourism. Thanks to its warm climate year-round, tourists, especially international visitors, often choose Quang Nam as a golf destination during the winter months.

Representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism believe that golf tourism is a potential direction for Quang Nam to develop off-season tourism, especially in the last months of the year when it is no longer the peak season for domestic tourism.
