Linking and promoting tourism between provinces and cities is one of the solutions to bring the image and tourism brand of Dak Lak closer to tourists, opening up opportunities for cooperation and gradually expanding the market.
Actively connect and promote
In 2023, despite many difficulties, Dak Lak tourism activities have recovered and achieved positive results. According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST), in 2023, the number of tourists welcomed by the province is estimated at 1,160,000, reaching 110.48% of the plan, up 16.06% over the same period in 2022. Of which, domestic visitors are estimated at 1,136,460, reaching 109.16% of the plan; international visitors are 30,240, reaching 201.60% of the plan. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 925 billion VND, reaching 108.82% of the plan, up 10.51% compared to 2022.

To achieve that result, during the year, Dak Lak tourism industry has made efforts to implement many measures to stimulate tourism, promote activities in markets, participate in fairs, organize to welcome delegations to Dak Lak for surveys, connect with tourism businesses in the province to exchange and cooperate... In which, the most prominent is the program to promote, advertise and link tourism.
Dak Lak has signed and cooperated on tourism with more than 10 provinces and cities in the country, contributing to facilitating local promotion and advertising and is a stepping stone for sustainable tourism development. |
Specifically, the provincial tourism industry has participated in festivals, fairs, and tourism events inside and outside the province in 2023 such as: Coffee Specialized Exhibition Fair within the framework of the 8th Coffee Festival; Phu Yen Tourism, Cuisine and Regional Specialties Fair; 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival; Vietnam International Tourism Fair... At the events, there are booths displaying and promoting tourism potentials, typical products, and introducing the unique cultural features of the province.

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also invited provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Quang Ninh to participate in the famtrip delegation to survey tourism products and services in Dak Lak province.
Mr. Dam Huy Long, Director of Go Today Travel and Events Company Limited (Hanoi) commented: “Dak Lak has beautiful natural landscapes, unique ethnic minority culture, diverse and attractive tourism products that conquer tourists in the North, specifically Hanoi”. Mr. Long added that after the tourism survey in Dak Lak, the company will have more experiences and product information to design tours that suit the needs of tourists.

During the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also signed tourism cooperation agreements with Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces, the Association of Industrial Park Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, etc. For example, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Tourism of Khanh Hoa province signed a cooperation agreement on tourism development for the period 2023 - 2025 with 5 contents including: Cooperation in the field of state management; cooperation in developing tourism products; cooperation in promoting, advertising and advertising tourism; cooperation in calling for investment; cooperation in training and fostering tourism human resources.
Tourism companies of the two provinces have also signed cooperation agreements, such as Bazan Xanh Travel Service Trading Company Limited (Dak Lak) and Ana Marina Nha Trang Joint Stock Company (Khanh Hoa) signed a cooperation agreement on connecting tours and tourism routes; Phu Xuan Construction Company Limited, Elephants Hotel (Dak Lak) and Viet Promotion Service and Tourism Company Limited (Khanh Hoa) signed a cooperation agreement on resort services...

Regional linkages are also of interest to the provincial tourism sector. In mid-October 2023, Dak Lak tourism sector coordinated with the tourism sectors of Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces to sign a tourism development cooperation program with Hai Phong, aiming to promote linkages, create a connection space between tourism businesses, contributing to increasing the number of tourists from Hai Phong City and the northern provinces to the three Central Highlands provinces and vice versa.
In particular, the Central Highlands provinces introduced the tour “One trip, many destinations”; selected attractive and unique destinations to introduce to Hai Phong tourism businesses.
The common point and also the strength of tourism in the three provinces of the Central Highlands is that they possess the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity “Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space” and many other heritages; diverse resources with many majestic and beautiful natural landscapes. In addition, each province also possesses its own strengths, creating the appeal of each tourism product…
