Linking and promoting tourism between provinces and cities is one of the solutions to bring the image and brand of Dak Lak tourism closer to tourists, opening up opportunities for cooperation and gradually expanding the market.

Proactively connect and promote.

In 2023, despite many difficulties, Dak Lak's tourism sector recovered and achieved positive results. According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province is estimated to have welcomed 1,160,000 tourists in 2023, reaching 110.48% of the plan and increasing by 16.06% compared to the same period in 2022. Of these, domestic tourists are estimated at 1,136,460, reaching 109.16% of the plan; and international tourists at 30,240, reaching 201.60% of the plan. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 925 billion VND, reaching 108.82% of the plan and increasing by 10.51% compared to 2022.

A delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Zone Business Association visited the Nam Truong Son Cocoa Farm tourist destination (Krong Ana district) to observe the cocoa production process.

To achieve these results, over the past year, Dak Lak's tourism industry has made efforts to implement many measures to stimulate tourism demand, strengthen promotional activities in various markets, participate in trade fairs, organize visits for delegations to Dak Lak for surveys, and connect with tourism businesses in the province for exchange and cooperation… Among these, the tourism promotion, advertising, and linkage program stands out.

Dak Lak has currently signed tourism cooperation agreements with more than 10 provinces and cities nationwide, contributing to facilitating local promotion and marketing efforts and serving as a stepping stone for the sustainable development of tourism.

Specifically, the province's tourism sector participated in various festivals, fairs, and tourism events both within and outside the province in 2023, such as: the specialized coffee exhibition within the framework of the 8th Coffee Festival; the Phu Yen Tourism, Food and Regional Specialty Fair; the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival; the Vietnam International Tourism Fair… At these events, there were booths showcasing and promoting the province's tourism potential, typical products, and unique cultural features.

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also invited provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Quang Ninh to participate in a famtrip to survey tourism products and services in Dak Lak province.

Mr. Dam Huy Long, Director of Go Today Travel and Events Company (Hanoi), commented: “Dak Lak has beautiful natural landscapes, unique ethnic minority cultures, and diverse and attractive tourism products that captivate tourists from the North, specifically Hanoi.” Mr. Long added that after the tourism survey trip to Dak Lak, the company will gain more experience and information on tourism products to design tours that suit the needs of tourists.

Representatives from Elephants Hotel (Dak Lak) and Viet Promotion Tourism and Service Company Limited (Khanh Hoa) signed a contract for a partnership in resort services.

During the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also signed tourism cooperation agreements with Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces, the Association of Industrial Park Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, etc. For example, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Tourism of Khanh Hoa province signed a cooperation agreement for tourism development in the period 2023-2025 with 5 contents including: Cooperation in the field of state management; cooperation in tourism product development; cooperation in tourism promotion and advertising; cooperation in attracting investment; and cooperation in training and developing tourism human resources.

Tourism companies from both provinces have also signed cooperation agreements, such as Bazan Xanh Travel Service Trading Company Limited (Dak Lak) and Ana Marina Nha Trang Joint Stock Company (Khanh Hoa) signing a cooperation agreement on connecting tours and travel routes; Phu Xuan Construction Company Limited, Elephants Hotel (Dak Lak) and Viet Promotion Tourism and Service Company Limited (Khanh Hoa) signing a cooperation agreement on resort services…

According to Mr. Le Van Duc, Director of Elephants Hotel, the partnership has helped the establishment proactively exchange information, obtain pricing policies, and build relationships for long-term development.

Regional linkages are also a focus of the province's tourism sector. In mid-October 2023, the Dak Lak tourism sector, in coordination with the tourism sectors of Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, signed a cooperation program with Hai Phong to promote tourism development. This aims to strengthen linkages, create a connecting space between tourism businesses, and contribute to increasing the number of tourists from Hai Phong City and the northern provinces to the three Central Highlands provinces and vice versa.

In particular, the Central Highlands provinces introduced the "One trip, many destinations" tour; selecting attractive and unique destinations to introduce to tourism businesses in Hai Phong.

The common point and also the strength of tourism in the three Central Highlands provinces is that they possess the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, "The Gong Culture Space of the Central Highlands," along with many other heritage sites; diverse resources with many magnificent and beautiful natural landscapes.
