Attending the forum to discuss business and investment cooperation opportunities between the Southern Gujarat region and Vietnam were leaders of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, about 50 enterprises that are members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the fields of textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, diamond production, fertilizers, renewable energy, etc.

Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, Vietnam's Trade Counselor in India, presented an overview of the political and diplomatic relations, economic cooperation, trade and investment between the two sides throughout history. Gujarat is the hometown of Mahatma Gandhi, who together with Uncle Ho laid the foundation for the Vietnam - India relationship. Gujarat is also the hometown of the current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has brought the Vietnam - India relationship to a new historical high point of "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership". Trade and investment relations with Gujarat also have many bright spots when the Adani Group is looking for investment opportunities in the fields of seaports, airports, logistics services and renewable energy with a committed capital of up to 10 billion USD.

Surat, famous for its diamond cutting and polishing, is known as the Diamond City of India. About 80-90% of the world's diamonds are produced, cut or polished in Surat, with an annual turnover of $24 billion.
At the forum, the parties shared about the potential for cooperation between Surat city enterprises and Vietnamese enterprises in areas where both sides have strengths and potential, including textiles, chemicals, smart city construction, waste treatment, and cooperation in the production of diamond jewelry.
