Promoting cooperation between Dak Lak province and Nevers city (France)

According to VNA correspondent in Paris, on December 10, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed between the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and the Nevers City government, France; and a Cooperation Agreement between the Dak Lak Department of Health and Nevers City Hospital. The ceremony was solemnly held at the Vietnamese Embassy in France.

Attending the event were Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Denis Thuriot, Mayor of Nevers City and representatives of Nevers City Hospital; and Ms. Pham Thi Kim Yen, Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in France.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi said that Dak Lak province is located in the center of the Central Highlands, has strengths in fruit trees, high-value industrial trees, and is an attractive destination for culture and eco-tourism, with beautiful natural landscapes; great potential for agriculture and investment. With a long history, Dak Lak clearly defines the goal of basically becoming the center of the Central Highlands by 2030, developing the economy and society rapidly and sustainably towards industrialization and modernization.

The Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee expressed his wish for open exchanges, increased mutual understanding, and the search for cooperation opportunities to promote the relationship between Dak Lak province and Nevers city in the coming time. Dak Lak is very interested in expanding cooperation with Nevers in the city's strengths such as economy, manufacturing industry, renewable energy, food, and environment. The new cooperation between the two localities will contribute to making the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France more and more practical and effective.

Speaking to VNA reporters at the ceremony, Mayor of Nevers Denis Thuriot assessed that Vietnam is a comprehensively developing country economically. He said that through French companies in Nièvre province, in areas such as the automobile industry, metallurgy, as well as agriculture, there are certainly many things that need to be developed together and that is why the city government signed a cooperation agreement in principle with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee.

Mayor Denis Thuriot said that through teaching and research, the two sides can move towards the exchange of trainees between the two countries depending on the level of training. For example, in the medical field, there have been doctors who have completed their training in France and have achieved the level of French for practical development in Vietnam. This helps develop a number of fields between the two countries and, moreover, can create exchanges such as in the economic field with the training field.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, said that Dak Lak is the fourth largest province in Vietnam, has abundant labor resources and agricultural strengths with key products such as coffee, cocoa, pepper, durian, etc. Dak Lak also has many opportunities for cooperation and development of renewable energy. With such potential, the province hopes to have cultural exchanges, cooperation in tourism and economic development, especially in high-tech application fields suitable to the strengths of Nevers city. He expressed his belief that in the coming time, on the basis of the signed cooperation agreement, the authorities and businesses of the two cities will have exchanges and coordination to implement cooperation contents, promoting the strengths of both sides on the basis of mutual benefits.

In the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and the Nevers City Government, the two sides clearly stated their desire to establish friendly relations and cooperation in five specific areas, including cultural exchange; information technology development and digital transformation; construction and operation of smart cities, urban planning and transport networks; exchange of experts, training to improve the capacity of medical staff; and sharing of experiences in applying high technology in agricultural production to promote investment in high-tech agricultural production...

In the Cooperation Agreement between the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health and Nevers City Hospital, the two sides committed to cooperate in three areas: Organizing training courses, sharing experiences in diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular - thoracic diseases, oncology, hematology, and hemodialysis; Sharing information about international medical events, conferences, and seminars, creating favorable conditions for each Party to attend; Organizing exchange programs between medical staff, implementing humanitarian and charitable activities.

Also within the framework of the visit and working program in the Republic of France, the delegation of Dak Lak province led by Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and learned about the research and innovation activities of the Nevers University of Automobile and Transport and the Inkub Agora Business Center for Startup and Innovation Support. These are two prestigious training institutions in France, playing an important role in creating strengths in the mechanical industry as well as digital transformation and innovation of the province of Nièvre, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, Central France.
