During his visit to Laos and co-chairing the 11th Vietnam-Laos Foreign Ministers' Political Consultation, on the afternoon of December 17, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son received Secretary and Governor of Champasak Province Alunxay Sunalat.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son expressed his joy in revisiting Champasak province and meeting again with Secretary and Governor Alunxay Sunalat. He was excited by the strong changes in the province and highly appreciated the achievements in socio-economic development, especially the good traditional relationship between Champasak province and localities of Vietnam, which has always been of interest and given high priority by generations of provincial leaders.
Thanking the Secretary, the Governor and the leaders of the provincial departments and branches for always paying attention to and supporting the Vietnamese community in the locality, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son suggested that the province continue to give priority and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the province to do business, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son affirmed to continue to support and promote Vietnamese enterprises to study investment and business in Laos in general and in Champasak province in particular, especially focusing on areas where the province has strengths and needs such as tourism, agriculture, fertilizer production, animal feed, etc.
Champasak Province Governor Alunxay Sunalat expressed his pleasure at welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister and the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Champasak on this occasion; informed about the economic, security - defense, cultural - social development situation of the province in 2024, especially the successful implementation of the goals in the local socio-economic development plan.

Champasak Governor Alunxay Sunalat said that Champasak is focusing on implementing Party Congresses at all levels towards the Provincial Party Congress, preparing to celebrate major events of Laos in 2025 such as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the 50th anniversary of National Day and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane. Champasak Governor Alunxay Sunalat expressed his delight at Champasak's close relationship with 16 provinces and 3 cities of Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the great relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Secretary and Governor of Champasak Province Alunxay Sunalat highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses in Champasak; affirmed that the visit and work of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister and delegation this time is a great source of encouragement, contributing to motivating the spirit of the Party Committee and the provincial government, and at the same time actively contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries, as the saying of the senior leader: "The relationship between Vietnam and Laos is a rare, unique, unlike any other and like no other"./.
