Promoting investment cooperation between Binh Duong and Cuba

(BDO) On the morning of April 10, at the Provincial Administrative Center, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to promote Cuban investment and trade with businesses in Binh Duong province. The Cuban delegation was led by Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City. Also attending was Mr. Abel Alejandro Rivero Ochoa, Director of the Mariel Special Development Zone Office (ZED Mariel). Also receiving the delegation were leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and businesses of the province.

Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada said that ZED Mariel is an important project of Cuba to attract foreign investment and promote the economic development of this island nation. ZED Mariel focuses on industries such as manufacturing, food processing, information technology, electronics, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy. These fields are expected to contribute greatly to the economic development of Cuba in the future.

Enterprises operating in ZED Mariel enjoy tax incentives such as corporate income tax reduction and import-export tax exemption for a long period of time. ZED Mariel also provides a modern infrastructure with state-of-the-art factories, warehouses and logistics services, facilitating production and trade activities...

Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada believes that some areas that are ZED Mariel's strengths are the areas that Binh Duong is calling for cooperation between the two sides. At the same time, ZED Mariel is offering many preferential policies, hoping that Binh Duong businesses will come to learn about them to cooperate and invest together, and develop together.
