At this forum, VCCI announced the report on the economic situation of the Eastern Expressway sub-region. The report provided a comprehensive analysis of the economic situation, business environment, infrastructure, and sustainable development efforts of the VEHEC region; in recent years, the strategic importance of the region encompassing the four provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen has been enhanced, as the region is oriented towards becoming a center for industry, logistics, and green development, in line with national priorities for sustainable and inclusive growth.
The report serves as an informational resource for stakeholders including policymakers, investors and local businesses who want to better understand the economic drivers, challenges and opportunities of the VEHEC region.
On the other hand, through the analysis of macroeconomic data and the business environment, the report has identified key limitations and proposed specific policy recommendations, aiming to provide useful information to support VEHEC in continuing its transformation into a sustainable and highly developed economic growth center.
Notably, the findings and recommendations in the report aim to strengthen VEHEC’s position as a strategic economic region, in line with national guidelines and regional aspirations to promote long-term and inclusive prosperity.
Previously, on July 28, 2022, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and four provinces and cities signed an Agreement on Economic Cooperation for the Eastern Expressway Axis. Immediately afterwards, the Vietnam Economic Cooperation Council for the Eastern Expressway Axis (VEHEC) was established to realize these agreements, based on promoting the role of connectivity between localities located along the expressway axis.
After 2 years of implementation, the Eastern Expressway Sub-regional Economic Connectivity Council has organized many conferences, seminars, linkage forums, investment promotion programs, and training for businesses on policies and laws...

In particular, it has created opportunities to connect industrial park developers, investors, and the government in line with a green and sustainable future.
