On the afternoon of December 12, in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh), the Eastern Expressway Industrial Park Forum took place with the theme "Linking to promote the development of smart manufacturing supply chains".
Based on the Agreement on economic connectivity of the Eastern Expressway axis signed by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) with 4 provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and following the success of the Forum on Linking Development of Industrial Parks (IPs) of the Eastern Expressway axis held in 2023, on the afternoon of December 12, under the direction of the Economic Connectivity Council of the Eastern Expressway sub-region, the Legal Department of VCCI, the Management Board of Quang Ninh Provincial Economic Zone and the Business Forum Magazine organized the Forum on Industrial Parks of the Eastern Expressway axis.
Overview of the opening session of the Forum.
With the theme "Linking to promote the development of smart manufacturing supply chains", at the forum, experts will discuss solutions to promote smart manufacturing supply chains in sub-regional industrial parks, thereby opening up opportunities for industrial parks on the Eastern Expressway axis to effectively connect with the global smart manufacturing supply chain.
At this forum, VCCI released the Eastern Expressway Sub-region Economic Report. The report comprehensively analyzed the economic situation, business environment, infrastructure, and sustainable development efforts of the VEHEC region; in recent years, the strategic importance of the region of the four provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong and Hung Yen has been enhanced, as the region is oriented to become a center of industry, logistics and green development, in line with national priorities for sustainable and comprehensive growth.
The report serves as an informational resource for stakeholders including policy makers, investors and local businesses who want to better understand the economic drivers, challenges and opportunities of the VEHEC region.
On the other hand, through the analysis of macroeconomic and business environment data, the report has identified key constraints and proposed specific policy recommendations, the report aims to provide useful information to support VEHEC to continue transforming itself into a sustainable and highly developed economic center.
Notably, the findings and recommendations in the report aim to strengthen VEHEC’s position as a strategic economic region, in line with national guidelines and regional aspirations to promote long-term and inclusive prosperity.
Previously, on July 28, 2022, VCCI and 4 provinces and cities signed the Economic Connection Cooperation Agreement of the Eastern Expressway Axis. Immediately after that, the Eastern Expressway Axis Sub-regional Economic Connection Council (VEHEC) was established to realize the agreements, on the basis of promoting the role of connection between localities located on the expressway axis.
After 2 years of implementation, the Eastern Expressway Sub-regional Economic Connectivity Council has organized many conferences, seminars, linkage forums, investment promotion programs, and training for businesses on policies and laws...
From there, it has created a balanced and sustainable region, associated with the development of economic corridors; connecting appropriately with the needs and strengths of localities associated with other localities in the region to create unity and combined strength in economy, culture, society, national defense, and security for the whole region and the whole country...
In particular, it has created opportunities to connect industrial park developers, investors and the government towards a green and sustainable future.
