Before the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2019, Vietnam was China's second largest tourist market, with nearly 8 million Vietnamese people traveling to China, including those on the day of departure and arrival. In the first months of 2024, Vietnam also sent many tourist groups to China, and the number of tourist exchanges between the two sides has recovered significantly in recent times.

Businesses believe that China tours are increasingly attractive to Vietnamese tourists thanks to the constantly added products at affordable prices, meeting the needs of many customer segments with a variety of flight, road, train options... From June, a charter flight from Hai Phong (Vietnam) to Lijiang (China) will be launched. Most recently, the announcement of the Hanoi - Haikou (Hainan, China) route by GX Airlines, increasing China travel options for Vietnamese tourists in the summer of 2024.

According to a representative of GX Airlines, the Haikou - Hanoi route will be operated with a frequency of 2 flights/week from June 2024. In the near future, the airline will open more flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. In addition, the route to Haikou also helps to smoothen the Chinese tourism route, thanks to the connection by direct daily flights to 22 other destinations in China such as Urumqi, Xi'an, Qingdao, Luoyang, Yichang, Huangshan, etc.

According to travel companies, in addition to supporting information and discount promotions for destinations, the most important thing is that there are many airlines operating on China tourism routes, creating competition that is beneficial for tourists, helping to travel conveniently, stimulating demand for many tourist destinations... Chinese airlines also closely cooperate with each province and city to bring tourists to that locality, so airfares are very competitive, helping to form a more reasonable tour price and more options for tourists.

"China is famous for its many beautiful routes, interesting routes, natural landscapes, and extensive cultural heritages... so travel agencies can exploit, design, and sell tourism products all year round. China's tourism routes also attract a variety of customers, from young people to the elderly... For example, tourists who have traveled on the Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou route can transfer to the Zhangjiajie, Xinjiang, Yunnan routes... with completely different experiences. On the other hand, currently the group visa procedures for Vietnamese tourists traveling to China are much simpler and faster.
