Thuan Bac strives for development

Faced with the above reality, the Party Committee and government of Thuan Bac district have focused on leading, directing, consolidating and perfecting the political system, improving the leadership capacity of grassroots party organizations, management and operation of government at all levels, unifying action programs, setting goals for each roadmap, initially effectively exploiting the potentials and advantages of the locality, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

If in the past, production was limited to monoculture of rice, depending heavily on the weather, now with the spirit of initiative and creativity in each solution, the right orientation has revived agricultural production. Infrastructure serving production has been invested in, the district has identified a number of crops suitable for the soil conditions of each region such as rice, hybrid corn, green beans, sesame, aloe vera, and custard apple. Many new and effective models have been replicated, the conversion of production models has been carried out effectively, with 385 hectares of rice, hilly areas lacking water have been converted to dry crops, increasing economic efficiency by 1.5-2 times; in particular, some areas have been converted to growing aloe vera and golden melon, economic efficiency has increased by 3 times compared to the previous form of cultivation, promoting agricultural production to develop in all 3 aspects of area, productivity and production value. The livestock industry continues to develop steadily in a safe, effective and highly economic direction. The model of raising cows, goats, sheep, black pigs and native chickens has been maintained and expanded, becoming an important industry in local agricultural production. Thanks to that, the production value of the water-controlled area has now reached over 110 million VND/ha/year; the average income per capita has increased from 2.2 million VND/person in 2005 to 62 million VND/person/year; the agricultural and forestry structure has an average annual growth rate of over 14.6%.

From a purely agricultural district, Thuan Bac today is becoming a key area for renewable energy in the province. Creatively applying central and provincial policies, especially the specific mechanism under Resolution No. 115/NQ-CP of the Government on the renewable energy development program, the district has focused on management and directed the removal of difficulties for investors; thanks to that, more and more projects are coming into operation. Up to now, the district has 8 wind and solar power projects, with a total capacity of 857MW, connected to the national grid. Along with that, a number of industrial products processed and manufactured construction materials are constantly expanding their production scale; the infrastructure of Du Long Industrial Park has initially attracted 5 secondary investors to invest in production and business, contributing to job creation and increasing income for local people.

The development highlights in recent years, from seizing opportunities well, taking advantage of natural conditions have created new changes in tourism activities. The district actively coordinates with provincial departments and branches to call on economic sectors to learn and invest in forming large-scale tourism projects. Typical examples are Binh Tien Tourist Area, Nui Chua Village Community Eco-tourism Area and 2 accommodation establishments; through propaganda and promotion work, it has attracted about 280,400 visitors to visit and relax on holidays, Tet, and summer every year, with tourism revenue estimated at 25 billion VND. Trade and service activities have developed rapidly, the district focuses on directing the synchronous implementation of solutions to support enterprises and business households in production, business, and circulation of goods; Commercial infrastructure and socialization in market development investment have achieved positive results, with 4/5 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas having commune markets, total retail sales of goods and service revenue by 2025 estimated at 2,536 billion VND.

Thuan Bac today has changed a lot, the appearance of the countryside is increasingly prosperous. Along with the investment attention of the State, especially the new rural construction program, local people have voluntarily contributed their efforts and money with the local government to invest in building infrastructure. The transportation system from the commune to the village is all concreted and asphalted, creating favorable conditions for travel and trade between regions; the national electricity grid covers 100%. Health care and education have been improved; thousands of poor and near-poor households of ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances, and policy families have been supported with funding to build houses and production land, promoting an improvement in their lives. Patriotic contest movements have been widely deployed and received positive responses from the people, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development and national defense and security of the locality.

The achievements have created an important driving force for the district to continue to strive forward, with the orientation of building a clean and strong Party and political system; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations and promoting the exemplary role of each party member in leading and directing socio-economic development tasks. Focusing on shifting the agricultural production structure on the basis of promoting the advantages of each region and locality, especially crops and livestock with high economic value and competitive advantages in the market; increasing the proportion of livestock farming to become the main production sector. Making the best use of potentials and advantages, striving to turn the district into a key renewable energy area of ​​the province; encouraging economic sectors to invest in developing the trade and service sector. Fully and promptly implementing social security policies; maintaining local security and defense.
