Thua Thien Hue implements many activities in the month of action for gender equality

The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has just issued a Plan to implement the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2023 (Month of Action).

With the theme “Ensuring social security, empowering and creating opportunities for women and girls to achieve gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence”, the Action Month will take place from November 15, 2023 to December 15, 2023. Thua Thien Hue also chose A Luoi district as the venue for the launching ceremony of the Action Month for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence at the provincial level in 2023.

Other localities, based on characteristics and actual situation, choose appropriate locations to hold the Launching Ceremony, ensuring the purpose and requirements set forth for the Action Month.

During the Action Month, Thua Thien Hue province will organize the Launching Ceremony in combination with other events in an effective, practical and economical manner to create a communication effect. Closely following the guidelines for key tasks of gender equality in 2023 of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Continue to thoroughly implement the Provincial People's Committee's Plan on communication on gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence in 2023 in the province and the Plan on implementing gender equality activities and for the advancement of women in 2023 in the province.

Strengthening propaganda about the theme, message and activities of the Action Month on mass media in various forms, suitable for each target group and actual situation such as: direct communication; propaganda on radio and television systems; grassroots information systems in communes, wards and towns; electronic information pages, electronic newspapers and social networking sites.

Organize forums, dialogues, seminars, workshops, and training courses on topics related to the theme of the 2023 Action Month; disseminate policies to ensure social security for people in general and women and children in particular, and the role of empowering women and girls in promoting gender equality. Organize competitions on the topics of gender equality and gender-based violence (legal research, composition, dramatization, excellent propagandist performances), cultural and sports exchanges, etc.; organize activities to support victims, women and children in difficult circumstances; commend outstanding collectives and individuals in gender equality work, prevention and response to violence against women and children in general and the implementation of the 2023 Action Month in particular.

Strengthening digitalization in communication through social networks (facebook, fanpage...) to reach more people, especially young people, students... to spread gender equality and prevent gender-based violence more strongly, and empower women and children.
