Thua Thien Hue: Free cosmetic surgery and cataract surgery for people

Many patients received free surgery through two charity programs organized by the Tran Tien Foundation in the United States and leading Japanese eye experts in collaboration with hospitals in Hue city.

Many poor patients in Ho Chi Minh City receive free surgery.

On March 26, Hue Eye Hospital and Prof. Hattori Tadashi, a leading Japanese ophthalmologist, collaborated with A Luoi Medical Center to perform free cataract surgery for 44 poor people.

With the participation of 4 experienced eye specialists and 2 modern phaco machines, the surgical team has brought hope to cataract patients who cannot afford examination and treatment. Each surgery is quick, only taking about 15-20 minutes.

After surgery, patients are instructed on how to care for and maintain their eyes, ensuring a smooth recovery of vision.

Prof. Hattori Tadashi is the lens sponsor with a cost of hundreds of millions of VND. He was awarded the noble medal "For the health of the people" by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. This is also the 18th year he has accompanied Hue Eye Hospital on its 20-year journey of bringing light to more than 20,000 poor patients in Vietnam.

Along with a series of free medical treatment activities, from March 24 to March 30, a cosmetic surgery program will take place with the coordination of leading experts from the Tran Tien Foundation, USA and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

The program provides opportunities for plastic and cosmetic surgery for people with problems with scars, hand and foot deformities, soft tissue defects of limbs, or in need of plastic surgery.

In addition to surgical activities, the two sides also coordinate to organize training courses and specialized training for medical staff of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and other units in the Central region.
