Thua Thien - Hue: Many roads are flooded, students in mountainous districts are out of school

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thua Thien - Hue province said that all areas in Nam Dong district had heavy rain, with rainfall generally exceeding 300 mm.

Heavy rain also caused many roads in low-lying districts to be flooded and cut off, with water levels rising to 30 cm in some places. National Highway 49B (connecting Phong Hoa commune to Dien Hai commune, Phong Dien district) was flooded at some points. Some sections of provincial road 17 and provincial road 6 were heavily flooded, causing traffic jams. In Quang Dien district, provincial road 8A through Quang Tho commune was also flooded from 20 to 30 cm...

According to the forecast, from November 14 to November 17, Thua Thien - Hue province will continue to have heavy rain, very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms. Total rainfall is generally 180 - 350 mm, in some places over 500 mm. The sea off the coast of Thua Thien - Hue province will have strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9; rough seas.
