Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam promote tourism in Taiwan - China

DNVN - On June 24, the Da Nang Department of Tourism announced that it had just coordinated with the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism and the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a tourism introduction of these three localities in Taipei, Taiwan (China).

With the theme “Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage”, the program attracted the participation of Mr. Vu Tien Dung - Director of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei; Ms. Rene Luo - President of the Taipei City Travel Association; Mr. Huang Wen Ching - President of the Taipei Tourism Quality Assurance Association, along with more than 120 guests representing airlines, travel agencies and press agencies in Taipei (Taiwan).

Within the framework of the program, Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam introduced to guests the typical tourism products of the 3 localities, focusing on promoting in-depth products suitable for the tastes of Taiwanese guests such as beach resort tourism, cultural tourism, cuisine, shopping, spa, MICE tourism, golf, wedding tourism and event programs of the 3 localities.

According to Mr. Vu Tien Dung - Head of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 530,000 visitors from Taiwan, an increase of 110.1% over the same period last year, of which about 45% of visitors came to Central tourist destinations such as Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang...

On the other hand, the number of Vietnamese tourists choosing Taiwan as their favorite tourist destination is also increasing. “We believe that the number of tourists traveling between the two sides this year will surpass the peak of the pre-pandemic period,” said Mr. Vu Tien Dung.

Participating in this program, businesses of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam had the opportunity to approach, exchange, introduce information and offer tourism products and services with partners in a 1:1 space, promoting bilateral exchange of guests between the parties.

According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city's tourism has grown strongly in the first 5 months of 2024, with the total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments reaching nearly 3.78 million, an increase of more than 22% over the same period in 2023, and an increase of more than 37% over the same period in 2019. The Da Nang Department of Tourism added that the Taiwanese market (China) accounts for 10.8% of the international visitor market structure and ranks 2nd in the top 10 international visitor markets to the city in the first 5 months of 2024.
