It is forecasted that today (November 25), water levels on rivers in Thua Thien Hue will continue to rise, flood peaks on Huong River and Bo River may reach and exceed Alert Level 3, beware of widespread flooding in downstream areas.

To ensure the safety of students and teachers, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province announced that students in the whole province will be off school on November 25.

In the mountainous areas of Thua Thien Hue province, many places have heavy rain, especially in the mountainous districts of Nam Dong and A Luoi. Heavy rain in the upstream has caused the water level in reservoirs and hydropower plants in Thua Thien Hue to be high and water must be regulated downstream. In particular, Ta Trach reservoir has been regulating water downstream with a gradually increasing flow rate of about 200-500 m3/s.

Thua Thien Hue province recommends that localities and people proactively deploy prevention plans; regularly monitor flood forecasts to proactively respond.

Localities prohibit all vehicles and people from traveling through roads at high to very high risk of landslides and underground areas, overflows, bridges and culverts with fast-flowing water, and flooded roads.
