Bac Giang Provincial Library: Many activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day

Here, delegates cut the ribbon to open the book and newspaper exhibition booth commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30 (1975 - 2025). The provincial library displays 3,000 books and newspapers with content aimed at commemorating the Liberation of the South; the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7 (1954 - 2025); the socio-economic achievements of the central and local governments during the renovation period. The books are impressively arranged according to models: Tanks, Independence Palace, etc.

On this occasion, delegates, teachers and students attended the talk on “Self-study - The key to self-development” presented by speaker - Master Nguyen Quoc Vuong. Speaker Nguyen Quoc Vuong was born in 1982, from Lien Chung commune, Tan Yen district (Bac Giang). He graduated from Hanoi Pedagogical University, majoring in History, and spent 8 years studying abroad and doing doctoral research in Japan. He is currently working in the field of education; actively translating, writing books and newspapers on the topics of culture, education and trying to inspire young people to read.

At the talk, the speaker mentioned the role of self-study, the importance of reading; choosing the right book and effective reading methods. According to the speaker, anyone, whether studying or working, still needs to continue self-study to improve knowledge and skills. Society is always changing, knowledge is vast, if you do not self-study, you will not be able to update new information and become outdated. Self-study will help you know what you need to learn, from there focus your efforts, and find effective learning methods.

Besides doing any job, self-studying knowledge of that field, learning things you love and according to your ability and strengths, nowadays people need to self-study foreign languages ​​to serve their life and work. One of the important self-study methods is reading books. Each person should choose the type of book they love, they need to read with passion and concentration; while reading, ponder and write down their feelings, good things as well as questions about the content of the book. After reading a book, you need to draw lessons, adjust yourself, overcome limitations to improve.

On this occasion, the Provincial Library organized a space for reading books and newspapers and provided free cards to readers. These activities contributed to affirming the value of books in social life, honoring readers, creators, publishers, collectors, preservers, and book introducers, thereby spreading the reading culture in the community.
