Practically celebrating Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), from April 10 to 21, 2025, An Giang Provincial Library organized a series of rich and exciting activities with the theme "Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen" . The program attracted a large number of students, teachers, cadres, soldiers and book lovers in the province to participate, contributing to spreading the reading culture and arousing the spirit of learning and creativity in the community.

Book and Reading Culture Day is a special occasion to honor the value of books, affirming the important role of reading in developing knowledge, nurturing the soul and training personality. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to express gratitude to those who contribute to the journey of books - from authors, editors, publishers to those who preserve, distribute and spread knowledge to all classes of people.

One of the highlights of the program is the space for displaying and arranging art books with the theme "Proud of Vietnamese history - Spreading reading culture" , taking place from April 10 to May 10, 2025. The display area is vividly designed, bearing a strong historical and cultural imprint, introducing hundreds of valuable books about the homeland, country and people of Vietnam, meeting the diverse needs of readers of all ages.

In addition, exchange programs also left a deep impression, such as: "Reading culture connects the community" with the participation of MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan (former lecturer of Hanoi University of Home Affairs) and Dr. Phan Van Hoan (former officer of Vietnam Academy of Science & Technology); or the talk show "Making friends with books" with writer, MC Phuong Huyen (Editor of FM99.9 MHz - Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio). These exchanges provide insightful perspectives, inspiring stories about the creative journey, the role of books and reading in developing thinking, nurturing passion and creativity.

Targeting students and children, the Provincial Library has organized a series of attractive activities such as: Workshop "Applying ChatGPT to reading books", creative stone painting activities with the theme "Homeland - Country - People" , experience “Discover the magic of books” , intellectual games, and mobile library vehicles to schools. These activities not only create interesting playgrounds after school hours but also sow the seeds of love for knowledge, arouse the spirit of learning and the ability to self-study early.

In addition, the program "Sowing the seeds of knowledge - Cultivating the future" for preschool children and primary school students is also organized with many lively activities: physical games, drawing, guessing stories, interacting with books... Thereby, helping children form a positive personality foundation and long-term joy of learning.

Along with direct activities, the Provincial Library also promotes online communication about the meaning of Book Day and Reading Culture, and introduces e-book reading platforms such as Book365.vn, sachdientu.vn, ebook.gov.vn , helping readers access digital knowledge conveniently and effectively in the digital age.

With a series of diverse, practical and meaningful activities, An Giang Provincial Library not only spreads the love of books in the community but also contributes to affirming the role of books and knowledge in building a learning society and sustainable development. This is also an opportunity to remind the Vietnamese people of their tradition of studiousness - where books are always a constant companion on the journey of growing up and creating the future.

“Good books: Eyes to read – Ears to listen” is not only the theme, but also the message that An Giang Provincial Library wants to convey: In the constant flow of life, books are always the lamp of knowledge, the endless source of inspiration that nurtures the aspirations of each person./.
