The Prime Minister requested relevant agencies to organize the implementation of assigned tasks and solutions, ensuring sufficient electricity supply for production and people's consumption.
The Government Office has just issued a notice of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's conclusion at a meeting to inspect the production and supply of electricity at a number of power plants in Quang Ninh province and the supply of domestic coal for electricity production.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and relevant agencies to be responsible for organizing the implementation of assigned tasks and solutions and strengthening effective coordination, all for the common goal of ensuring sufficient electricity supply for production and people's consumption.
To contribute to overcoming the current difficulties in power supply, the Prime Minister requested EVN, TKV and investors of power plants with incidents to focus resources and make the greatest efforts to overcome the incidents, put these plants back into operation soon, and at the same time, carry out forecasting well and prepare conditions to maintain production, ensure the plants operate at the right capacity, and ensure safety for production and labor.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN and relevant agencies need to proactively guide, encourage and be creative in enhancing the implementation of electricity saving work to achieve the highest efficiency.
The Prime Minister also requested the coal industry to make more efforts to ensure sufficient domestic coal supply for electricity production and other industries; strive to increase production and business targets by 10-15% compared to the set plan.
Regarding a number of recommendations from TKV and Quang Ninh province, including the approval of the planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Prime Minister requested the Government Office to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to complete procedures and documents, and report to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha for consideration and decision according to regulations and authority.
Regarding the proposal to assign a long-term coal export plan to proactively export high-quality coal (not in domestic demand), the Government Standing Committee has concluded and directed the situation of electricity supply and the issue of coal and gas supply for electricity production, in which the Ministry of Industry and Trade is assigned to study and issue appropriate mechanisms and policies to create conditions for the coal and gas industry to have a long-term, stable production plan, bringing the highest and best benefits and efficiency to the country.
According to the Electricity Regulatory Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the North is currently in the early flood period. It is expected that in the coming time, the water flow to the lakes in the North will continue to increase and can ensure electricity supply with an average calculated load of about 421-425 million kWh/day.
For the Central and Southern regions, ensure electricity supply and do not have to run on oil in the coming time. In some cases of unusually high load or incidents with many thermal power sources, it is possible to flexibly mobilize DO oil sources to meet the demand.
