Prime Minister: Building Hanoians who represent Vietnamese culture and dignity

(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that individuals who have received the title of "Outstanding Citizen of the Capital" are beautiful flowers, loved, respected and followed by everyone.

On the morning of October 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council, attended the Conference to commend advanced models, good people, good deeds, honor "Outstanding Capital Citizens" in 2023 and launch an emulation movement towards the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that over the past 75 years, since President Ho Chi Minh issued the Call for Patriotic Emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023), under the leadership of the Party, the participation of the entire political system, and the active participation of all classes of people, patriotic emulation has increasingly developed, becoming a widespread movement, achieving great results, which are very valuable.

This is an important driving force for the Vietnamese revolution to go from victory to victory. Patriotic emulation gradually becomes a precious tradition, a unique cultural feature, a heritage of our nation.

Emphasizing that Hanoi is the capital, the heart of the whole country, the national political and administrative nerve center, a major center of economy, culture, science and technology, the Prime Minister said that in any circumstance, Hanoi is always the leading locality in the emulation and patriotic movements of the whole country.

According to the Prime Minister, the honored individuals, regardless of their field or position, through their specific and practical daily actions, have demonstrated their love for Uncle Ho, studied and followed Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; made efforts to practice, strive and be determined to contribute to their localities and units, and to build the capital city to become more civilized and prosperous.

The achievements of the advanced models that are commended are convincing and have a strong influence, truly a bright and vivid example, contributing to the cultivation of awareness, ideology, and emotions, arousing and multiplying the positive aspects in each person, contributing to the successful implementation of the renovation, national development, and building the culture and people of the Heroic Capital.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the head of the Government noted that Hanoi must focus on competing to complete the construction of the draft Law on the Capital (amended); urgently complete the establishment of the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; and adjust the overall Master Plan for the construction of the Capital to 2045 and a vision to 2065.

On that basis, the city needs innovative thinking, strategic vision on spatial development, promoting the implementation of projects and progress of public investment disbursement, especially key projects.

Along with that, Hanoi must effectively resolve social issues, effectively implement social security policies, and create jobs; strengthen national defense and security, maintain political security, social order and safety; improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs and international integration in a deep, practical, and effective manner.

The Prime Minister also requested that Hanoi continue to focus on building and rectifying the Party and political system of the capital, ensuring true solidarity, cleanliness, and comprehensive strength.

At the same time, perfect the organization of the capital's government apparatus in the direction of streamlining, modernizing, operating effectively, efficiently, and interconnectedly, suitable to the role, position, and requirements of the capital's management development in the new development stage.

It is worth noting that Hanoi needs to build a team of highly qualified cadres with pure moral qualities, dynamism, creativity, daring to think and act, and meeting task requirements, which is a decisive factor.

Hanoi strives to complete and exceed its goals

Emphasizing that the individuals who achieved the titles of "Good People, Good Deeds", "Outstanding Citizens of the Capital" in 2023, who were honored at the conference, are truly beautiful flowers, loved, respected and followed by everyone. The Prime Minister believes that after this conference, these individuals will have more and more achievements, spreading widely.

This contributes to encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people of Hanoi to rise up strongly and achieve many outstanding achievements, making the capital's "good people, good deeds" flower garden grow more and more brilliantly.

The Prime Minister also visited the exhibition "Hanoi - Thousands of flowers for Uncle Ho" held on the occasion of the conference.

At the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council of Hanoi City Tran Sy Thanh, on behalf of the City's leaders, launched the emulation movement "Good people, good deeds" in 2024 and the emulation movement towards the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

Hanoi strives to complete and exceed the set socio-economic development goals and targets, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 17th National Party Congress of the City; gradually building a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" and Affectionate Capital.
