The Special Summit to celebrate 50 years of ASEAN-Australia relations, themed “Partnership for the Future”, is an opportunity for the two sides to review the past 50 years of relations and discuss measures to promote substantive and effective development of relations, in line with the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2021.
At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of ASEAN countries and Australia will discuss and propose visions, directions and specific measures to expand cooperation in the coming time. In particular, Australia is expected to discuss and propose new cooperation initiatives; if both sides agree, there will be breakthroughs in bilateral relations, contributing to creating more resources and foundations for ASEAN - Australia relations to develop more strongly in the coming time.
During his official visit to Australia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks and meetings with top Australian leaders; attend the Vietnam-Australia Business Forum; visit an exhibition of investment projects in Vietnam; work with a number of Australian business associations and large corporations; and visit a number of Australian economic, social, and scientific research establishments. The Prime Minister will spend time meeting with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Australia; and meeting with representatives of the Vietnam-Australia Association of Intellectuals and Experts.
Along with assessing the development of bilateral relations in recent times, especially in implementing the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership, the two sides will orient cooperation in the coming time, aiming to bring bilateral relations to a new height, emphasizing the goals of trade and investment cooperation; especially expanding cooperation in education - training, science - technology, innovation, digital economy, green economy, etc.
On this occasion, the two sides will sign and exchange many cooperation documents in the fields of education, energy, minerals, agriculture - forestry - fishery, science - technology, innovation, justice, finance, trade, investment...
