This message was given by Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra during a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Vientiane (Laos) on October 9, on the occasion of attending the ASEAN Summit.
Pleased with the good development of the friendly neighborly relations and enhanced strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand, the two Prime Ministers agreed to increase contacts and exchanges at high and all levels.

The leaders of the two governments said they directed relevant agencies to effectively deploy bilateral cooperation mechanisms and actively implement the Action Program to implement the Vietnam-Thailand Enhanced Strategic Partnership for the 2022-2027 period in various fields.
The two Prime Ministers also agreed to strive to soon reach the target of 25 billion USD in bilateral trade in a balanced manner. This will be done through reducing trade barriers, opening up commodity markets, removing obstacles and enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Thailand highly appreciated the importance of implementing the “Three Connectivity” strategy, especially connecting supply chains and strategic areas such as transportation, digital economy, green economy, energy transition, etc.
The early establishment of a Joint Working Group to develop the content and specific plan to implement this strategy is one of the important directions agreed upon by the heads of the two governments.
In addition, the two Prime Ministers also agreed to expand cooperation in potential areas such as economy, tourism, transportation, multimedia connectivity, and local cooperation; and coordinate with relevant countries to pilot the tourism cooperation initiative “six countries, one destination”.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed the importance of strengthening coordination and information exchange in the fight against terrorist and reactionary organizations, with the goal of ensuring that no individual or organization is allowed to use the territory of one country to fight against another.
Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra affirmed that he will soon arrange an official visit to Vietnam and co-chair the 4th Vietnam-Thailand joint cabinet meeting.
Emphasizing that Vietnam is one of Thailand's important partners in Southeast Asia, the Prime Minister hopes to soon develop relations with Vietnam to a new height.
Regarding regional and international issues of mutual concern, the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Thailand agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation, maintain solidarity and unity within ASEAN, and promote ASEAN's central role in international and regional issues, including the management and sustainable use of Mekong River water resources.
Besides, it is necessary to ensure peace, stability, security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea region on the basis of international law, UNCLOS 1982; fully and effectively comply with the DOC Declaration, and soon achieve a substantive and effective COC.
