(Dan Tri) - The national conference to remove difficulties and obstacles and promote the development of social housing is scheduled to be held on March 6.
The Government Office has just issued Document 1600 to ministries and branches on organizing a national conference to remove difficulties and obstacles and promote the development of social housing. According to the plan, the conference will be held on March 6 in Hanoi, online to 63 connecting points in localities across the country.
The conference aims to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing and effectively implement the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income people and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period".
Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to report on social housing development and implementation of the 1 million social housing project; proposed inviting large real estate enterprises to advise the Government on removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting social housing development and implementing the above project.

The Prime Minister requested the State Bank of Vietnam to report on removing difficulties and obstacles in accessing credit capital for real estate businesses; report on disbursing VND120,000 billion in loans to support businesses in completing social housing development projects, worker accommodation, and renovating and rebuilding apartment buildings; the Prime Minister also requested the State Bank to report on the proposal to provide long-term preferential loans to young people under 35 years old.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction submitted to the Prime Minister a proposal to organize a conference to promote social housing and the healthy and sustainable development of the real estate market.
The conference is expected to have the direct participation of 200 delegates who are experts, representatives of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association and many large real estate enterprises across the country such as Vingroup, Sungroup, Novaland, Hung Thinh Land, Becamex IDC Binh Duong, CEO Group, Him Lam, Capital House, Capitaland, Viglacera, HUD, Ecopark...
At a conference with commercial banks held on February 11, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the State Bank and banks to research and continue to have preferential credit packages for both supply and demand to develop social housing, housing for young people aged 35 and under and those in difficulty.
In a report sent to the Prime Minister ahead of the national conference on social housing, the Ministry of Construction said that from 2021 to present, localities across the country have completed investment in 103 social housing projects, with a construction scale of 66,755 apartments.
In 2024 alone, the whole country will complete construction of 28 projects with a construction scale of 21,874 apartments, an increase of 58% compared to 2023.
Localities with a number of completed social housing units higher than the target in the Government's Project to build 1 million apartments by early 2025 include: Khanh Hoa 3,364 units, An Giang 1,809 units, Binh Dinh 4,427 units, Hanoi 11,334 units, Bac Ninh 7,020 units.
Notably, some localities have completed social housing numbers much lower than the target in the project such as: Ho Chi Minh City 2,745 units, Binh Phuoc 350 units, Binh Duong 2,045 units, Quang Ninh 412 units.
